Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Freise.
Elizabeth, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always been at the intersection of creativity and planning, which has unlocked a career of creating moments for brands, on and offline. Starting in my hometown of Seattle with 12+ years at Nordstrom, from the sales floor at the Seattle flagship, to corporate marketing, to our LA Fashion Office, where I produced fashion-focused events nationally and in Canada.
I then pivoted to a digital-first space at POPSUGAR & ShopStyle in 2015, leading brand strategy, innovation and experiential production across verticals – concepting and producing everything from a national fitness event series to New York and Paris Fashion Week activations.
In 2017, I launched my creative production house, Poolside Etiquette, where we lead experiential and digital efforts for a variety of fashion, beauty, wellness, media, and consumer brands.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
From an overall journey, of course there have been ups and downs. 99% of them being the result of outside change. From job relocations, client needs, economy changes, I try to always welcome change and look forward to what new doors may hold.
The current climate has been the ultimate challenge with all events on long-term hold. So, I have focused on learning new skills, email marketing for one, and supporting my ongoing clients even if just brainstorming for 2021.
The best part about events is not wondering IF something will go wrong, but accepting that something WILL go wrong, so we can positively and nimbly handle and move forward. We call it – EVENTING.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Poolside Etiquette – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Poolside Etiquette is a creative production house. Passionate about creative excellence, unexpected ideation, and fresh experiences, we dive into each project with a vibrant and uniquely crafted vision. Poolside Etiquette leads experiential and digital efforts for a variety of fashion, beauty, wellness, media, and consumer brands.
From an experiential viewpoint, productions include pop-ups, brand experiences, custom activations, tablescapes, influencer events, product launches, fashion production and more.
From a design and digital POV, Poolside Etiquette offers a full creative suite of design, digital marketing, e-commerce and branding services.
The Poolside Etiquette magic, let’s say our golden hour, is offering clients a single-contact solution paired with a comprehensive service offering. What this means for them – a single point of contact to join their organization however best works for their team. Many of our clients do not need full time experiential or design professionals and instead look to us to support any ongoing initiatives, ideation and production needs.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Future plans include a daily dedication to my clients and their needs paired with an always-on creative pursuit of fresh ideas that WOW.
Continued focus on creative excellence and fresh ideas brought to life seamlessly. No experiential or digital ask is the same, and the best results are always a culmination of ideas, teamwork, communication, and creative solutions. My goal is to stay open, flexible and understanding while having a strong POV, creative instincts, and unexpected ideas.
