Meet Danny Baker of Epic Imagery in Northridge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Baker.

Danny, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I got my start in the photography world about 20 years ago. I was introduced to professional photography through a friend of mine who taught me several facets of the professional world: technique, etiquette and business skills. I started out helping shoot and assist on weddings and other related events. Over the years not much has changed in terms of the studio’s emphasis. And I’ve made efforts to advance my skills, education and professionalism to appeal to demanding clients all over the world.

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been a relatively smooth road but every journey has its challenges. I’d say the biggest challenge in today’s photography world is finding ways to stand out amongst a very crowded industry. For me it comes down to convey to my clients a superior level of attention, service and overall photography experience. Of course, delivering stunning images/work is part of that too!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Epic Imagery – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My studio is called Epic Imagery and was founded in 1997. I own the studio and I’m the lead photographer as well. I’d say probably the biggest achievement is staying relevant and maintaining a thriving photography studio for the last 20 years. As a studio and a photographer, I strive to exceed my client’s expectations while delivering fresh, clean and artistic imagery. These elements help me set the studio apart in a very crowded imaging world.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Although my studio is located in the city of Northridge in the SFV, I spend quite a bit of time in the downtown and coastal areas of L.A. As a photographer, I love the all of the variety that Los Angeles and the Valley have to offer. Locally, I enjoy shooting nature-based work in the Granada Hills and Porter Ranch areas. The traffic congestion is my least liked feature. As a photographer, I’m always dealing with very rigid schedules, so planning ahead and considering the unknown traffic variables is pretty vital.
