Meet Ava Cadell of Loveology University in Malibu & West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ava Cadell.

Ava, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My Dickensian childhood began with the Hungarian revolution of 1956. I was born Ildiko Eva Csath on June 15th that year in Budapest, only five months before a nationwide revolt erupted against the Soviet-ruled government of the Hungarian People’s Republic. What began as a student demonstration against oppressive foreign leadership, ended in a bloody battle as Soviet troops stormed in to crush the revolt that had reverberated across the entire country. I was one of 200,000 people who fled the violence and chaos, landing on the doorstep of an Austrian orphanage in Salzburg, which was run by strict nuns.

I share my own experiences growing up with guilt and shame about sex, beginning with the nuns at the orphanage who “taught” me that if I kissed a boy, a baby would pop out of my mouth, because I believe that sex is one of the most precious gifts we can give someone, who is worthy. It’s also the second basic instinct after survival and is a beautiful, healthy, loving way for two people to synchronize their energies.

It’s no surprise that I attracted unhealthy relationships after being programed to think of sex as something to be ashamed of and I was so naive that I didn’t even know the difference between love and sex. In fact, I was unable to say the words, “I love you” to a man until I was in my thirties.

The good news is that neuroscience has proven that we can reprogram our brain and grow new brain cells with new behaviors that become patterns, so I practice self-love and nurturing every day.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My road to success began as a very rocky one, first as a Hungarian refugee and then I was taken to England where I experienced an onslaught of physical, sexual and emotional abuse. I lived in a perpetual state of fear because there were no clearly drawn boundaries between myself and others. Healthy social development was robbed from me as a child and teenager. But, I saw myself as a warrior, not just a survivor and I have been fortunate to be able to use the abuses of my past to help others heal from theirs. Becoming a sexual healer was my calling, my destiny; and it had taken many years for me to come to this realization.

My career plan suddenly dawned on me when I was writing my first book called, Hot Spots about the sexiest cities in North America with my best friend Jane Hamilton. During my research I found the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco and discovered that they gave degrees in Sex Education, Sexology and Sex Therapy. I made an appointment to meet with them and was able to enroll in one of their Doctorate programs.

However, to supplement my income and pay for my tuition, I got small acting roles on TV shows that were popular in the 80’s like, Love Boat, Hotel, Fall Guy and Matt Houston. This experience was so valuable as it gave me the confidence to become a good media therapist and public speaker once I graduated with my Doctorate in Human Behavior and Sexuality.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Loveology University – what should we know?
I’m a proud Certified Sexologist with a Doctorate in Human Sexuality. I believe in a quotation by Richard Bach from his book Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah, in which he wrote, “We teach best what we most need to learn.” For decades in my private practice as a Clinical Sexologist and AASECT Certified Sex Counselor, I have been helping people rediscover their sexuality after trauma has left them feeling worthless and ashamed. Working together and utilizing a diverse set of techniques, we can heal emotional damage and recover healthy sexual desire, replacing self-blame with self-love. With ten books published, I’ve just completed my eleventh one, #Reclaiming Me – Loving Solutions for Sexual Healing. Through autobiographical details of my own survival, and many stories from my clinical practice, I offer exercises for survivors and couples to heal and thrive and reach a new destination of self-love that enables a loving recovery.

I’m also proud of my Love ology University® (LU) where I have been training Certified Love Coaches around the world to help people make love a priority in their lives for the past ten years. I believe the meaning of life is, learning how to give and receive love! You can view my online university at: https://www.loveuniv.com/ as I want every adult to have access to positive and accurate information about love and intimacy.

I am dedicated to my charity work, especially with Ahead with Horses, AHEAD (Accelerated Habilitation Education and Development) for disabled children. I have volunteered for more than 25 years and I’m on the board of directors in charge of organizing their 50-year anniversary celebration in November 2018. Nickelodeon studios have generously offered their fantastic venue for the event and William Shatner will receive a Humanitarian Award from AWH for his decades of support to the charity. I’m still working on getting entertainment, catering and silent auction items to raise funds for these children. Visit their website for more details at: http://aheadwithhorsesla.org/

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I’m so grateful to the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality and my mentor Dr. Marilyn Lawrence, as I could not have become a leading expert on love, relationships, intimacy and human sexuality without their leadership. Because of them, I have traveled the world to do seminars for Fortune 500 businesses, medical groups, women’s conferences, spiritual organizations and couples retreats helping people improve their love lives and teaching business people that if they treat their relationships with as much care as their companies, they will be truly successful.

Sexycises by Sexperts: Yin Yang Yoga for Intimacy would not have been possible without my sexpert teammates, lead by Dr. Cat Meyer who helped me to produce a fun video that explores the benefits of couple’s yoga for healing and enriching relationships through heart-to-heart connection. With the help of 20 sexperts who are also yoga practitioners, my Sexycises program has already been taught in China, Thailand, Mexico, Jamaica and of course in the United States at the Sexual Health Expo, where it was initially launched. My vision is that it will be the new trend at yoga studios, gyms and couples resorts around the world. You can meet these talented sexperts and see the benefits of Sexycises at https://sexycises.com/. Finally, one of my greatest passions is mentoring other students who want to follow in my footsteps because I want to make the world a more loving place.

For my latest project I have teamed up with pheromone pioneers Eye of Love, to create beautiful jewelry that can be infused with their high quality pheromones. The new pheromone-infused jewelry line is made with black lava rock, one of the oldest and most abundant stones that possesses energetic qualities. When sprayed with pheromones, it acts as a fragrance diffuser that becomes a powerful attracting force worn close to the skin. Whether you’re going on a date or to a business meeting, you’ll have that added confidence and charisma that will make you feel you’re on top of the world. Find out more at www.eyeoflove.com
