Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Diaz.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Adrienne. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was first introduced to the ancient science of Ayurveda when I did my Yoga Teacher Training in January of 2015.
The history, philosophy, and science behind Ayurveda was intriguing to me and I knew I wanted to dive deeper into my Ayurvedic studies. Little did I know, that a decline in my health later that year would drive me right to the doors of Ayurvedic Medicine.
Today I offer services rooted in the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga that helped me, and I help you to rekindle the positive relationship with yourself through plant-based food, sustainability, and wildly loving adventure.
I received my Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science from North Central College, completed my Yoga Teacher Training certification, Reiki Certification, and studied Ayurvedic Medicine at Mount Madonna Institute with master teachers including Dr. Vasant Lad, Dr. Suhas Kshirsagar, Dr. RH Singh, Dr. Sarita Shrestha, Steven Highburger, Dr. John Douillard, Dr. Rucha Kelkar, and Dr. Yashashree Mannur. I offer services such as Ayurvedic nutritional counseling, private yoga, meditation, breathwork and energy healing. My purpose is to educate and to inspire my community to live in harmony with all rhythms of life.
I am so happy to be sharing the gift that has been given to me, and I look forward to a journey to health with you!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a bumpy road, but I am enjoying the ride as I learn and grow. One struggle that I had was getting enough attendees to sign up for a 6-week course that I was offering. I received a lot of positive responses to my course, however, I found that it is really challenging for people, especially in LA, to commit to something for six weeks (and let’s be honest, I wasn’t ready to commit to six weeks either). It was a learning experience, nonetheless, and I look forward to doing a mini day retreat version of it soon!
Ho’ola Mamma – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
In the ancient Hawaiian language, ho’ola (pronounced hoh-OH-lah), means to heal or to give life. In ancient Ayurvedic wisdom, we learn to focus on eating foods that contain life force energy (prana) and living a lifestyle that promotes pranic energy.
This might mean eating freshly cooked vegetables and fresh fruits from the farmers market, soaking whole beans before cooking them, spending more time outdoors in nature, trying a new outdoor sport, dancing, creating artwork, and more!
At Ho’ola Mamma, we encourage you to embrace the things that GIVE YOU LIFE. That is the true Art of Holistic Living.
After the initial Ayurvedic Health Consultation is completed, I offer various Ayurvedic Therapies to supplement your current practice. Ayurvedic Therapies include Abhyanga, Nasya, Karnapoorna, Breathwork, Meditation, Asana, Nutritional/Food Guidance, and Lifestyle recommendations catered to your specific mind-body type.
Ayurveda is a lifestyle. It reminds us that daily self-care rituals (e.g., meditating, dancing, retreating) are a way of celebrating the body, celebrating life.
Rooted in the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga, Ho’ola Mamma rekindles the positive relationship with ourselves through clean food, sustainability, and wildly loving adventure. With love, Ho’ola Mamma celebrates you.
