Today we’d like to introduce you to Remonde Levy.
Hi Remonde, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It all pretty much started when I was in high school, being a special education student between freshman year and junior year. I always had the edge in the niche to become more than what they tried labeling me in high school. Being told from a student guidance counselor that I wouldn’t be able to go to college did nothing for me but add fuel and give me more gas to add to the flame that was already burning inside of me. I was able to use what was told to me to drive me, give me more confidence, allow me to become the man that I am currently becoming now. It’s very funny that a few years later, I was able to complete my four years degree at Benedict> college in Columbia South Carolina with my BA degree in mass communications with a concentration in broadcasting. I would later be invited by my old professors to consider the opportunity to get my master’s degree.
Now at that particular moment in time, I was very, very, very intimidated by the thought of getting my master’s degree, I had no experience of understanding what it would be like, I was very nervous. But then, I was able to tap into my own abilities and provide a better understanding of what furthering my education would be like if I needed to use it later on in the years. So with that being said, I was able to take the recommendations from mentors and a few other colleagues of mine to pursue furthering my education at Full Sail University. I would then go on and complete a one-year accelerated program at Full Sail University from October 12 to November 1, 2013. I received my master’s degree in the entertainment business master of science. While doing that, someone approached me and told me that I had the brains for being behind the camera, but you also have the brains and looks to be in front of the camera. At first, I was apprehensive, I had no idea of what I was getting myself into, but I knew if I took the leap of faith to try something new, it would bring nothing but joy and happiness towards my life. I would then take the opportunity to get in front of a few cameras to build up my portfolio.
Over the years, I will not lie and say that doubt didn’t set in, at times I felt a bit of impostor syndrome, the intimidation, and the uncertainty of rather or not I could make it. But being a man of God allowed me to become more confident, become more self-aware, become more intelligent, and having the understanding that life will always have his ups and downs. A lot of people don’t know this but I am an only child having both parents married for 35 years known each other for 37 years as a blessing that I hope one day I had the opportunity of having. But being a man who is always willing to take risks and go after his dreams is something that I am destined to fulfill. I am on a journey to become the greatest man I can become for me and my family. I also took upon the opportunity to teach other individuals that you too can become better if you just believe in yourself. Having the opportunity to be a teacher a personal trainer or even a role model influence of the others has allowed me to always stay on top of my game. In reference to “Game“, I had an old basketball coach teach me and tell me that you should always be a student of the game. I’ve decided to use the same methods in my life as well. With me trying to become an aspiring model and actor, I’ve always done my best to study, stay humble and be as aware as possible during my journey that am I destined for.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was not smooth sailing over the years dealing with my father having Alzheimer’s and dementia and family passing away due to COVID-19 and also losing my father about 5 to 6 months ago. Over those months, I’ve built a characteristic that allows me to be very resilient and confident on my own
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a personal trainer, model, and actor. I have also had the opportunity to work in education as a business education and ITV program teacher. I believe the one thing that sets me apart from others is my resiliency and my work ethic. I would also consider myself someone whose distinguishing factor is not giving up. Being told I would not be able to do something makes me work even harder.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I would love for my readers to understand that I’m a man of God, I’m a humble servant doing his work and that I am an actor and model doing what I feel is right to fulfill my dreams and go after all that I believe in. And I want everyone to know that they can go after theirs as well.
