Today we’d like to introduce you to TiaMarie Harrison.
Hi TiaMarie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Within Support LLC has evolved over the years as to what it is today. From when I was young, I always thought I would be in the field of helping others. I just didn’t know what that would exactly look like. My passion for working with parents grew after working directly with children who were diagnosed with special needs and realizing the skills I had could help all children. As much as I enjoyed working directly with children, I saw the most success when parents were involved. Today I offer online parent coaching to all types of families. When schools were closed due to the Pandemic, I saw there was a greater need for parents to receive support. The tools I offer parents help them create an awareness of the things they can not control, increase focused positive interactions in their relationships, be curious about the parenting challenges that come up, and make choices that lead to results for themselves, their children and the whole family.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building a business always has its ups and downs. At the start of creating my business in 2008, the focus was only working directly with children and offering suggestions to parents as needed. In 2010, because of the success families were seeing, I began to receive a lot of referrals. What was interesting was these referrals were asking me to teach parents what I was doing with children. This was the aha moment for me and as much as I enjoyed working with children, I enjoyed working with parents even more. From 2010 to 2020, I did a mixture of both in my business and also supported educators. All of this has been an ongoing learning experience as what I do is very individualized to each family. Transitioning to now working with parents more online, I look forward to seeing where this path will take me.

Within Support is an online parent coaching business that offers guidance for families to work through the challenges that arise when parenting. We are committed to going on this journey of well-being for the parent(s) and their children by helping parents have the confidence and patience to maintain a positive connection with their children in all situations.
Parents tell me they have read all the books, listened to many podcasts, received advice from their family and friends, and sometimes they are still frustrated, overwhelmed, and looking for answers. By applying both
education and experiences, I have found when the strategies were individualized; positive changes were made for the child and the whole family. Daily interactions became less about telling your child what to do and more about having positive connections in the best of times and during the most difficult times.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Risk-taking is something I feel is a part of life. For me, the biggest risks I have taken have been when I moved to another country and moved to different states. With these moves each time, I had to start over both personally and professionally. Although there was fear involved, I feel as though to grow you have to work through the fear to receive the lessons (both good and bad) that are presented. Without taking the risks, I wouldn’t be on this path of continued growth which allows me more opportunities in all areas of my life.
