Exploring Life & Business with Jenn Horst

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenn Horst.

Hi Jenn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in The San Fernando Valley and have started and run several businesses in my life, one of which was being a hairstylist for 14+ years. I knew there was opportunities in the world beyond having to directly trade my time for money, as this concept has a relatively low financial ceiling, and I wanted to be helping others on a much bigger scale. I always knew my purpose was rooted deeply in service to others, so I dove into seeking out what might be next for me.

Becoming a real estate agent was introduced to me by a friend and client after I had shown interest in real estate investing, and I thought what a great way to learn everything there is to know while also helping many others achieve their dream of homeownership or investing.

I truly believe that by serving others first, I in turn serve myself.

I have extreme gratitude for my clients; families and individuals that have since become friends that have allowed me the opportunity to help them with buying and selling homes and we have fun while we do it. I can’t wait to see what the future holds and see how my business evolves as I help more and more people.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Real Estate can be a roller coaster, and every single transaction is different and requires different versions of me. It is the ultimate life lesson of being present for my clients and doing whatever it takes to get their needs met, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am a Real Estate Agent at eXp Realty, and I specialize in single family residential sales and purchases, but I also help individuals purchase condos and multifamily properties. My area of service doesn’t only include the San Fernando Valley, but also Conejo Valley, Greater Los Angeles and parts of Ventura County. The brokerage I represent is very heavy in collaboration and I have many agent partnerships all over the world, so when I sell a home, it isn’t only me pushing it out to my local neighborhood, it’s many agents sharing it in any area that we think would be valuable in getting it in front of potential buyers.

When you work with me as your agent, not only do I represent you as a seller or buyer to my utmost capacity, which includes a full-service treatment from start to finish, but you are also gaining a team of highly intelligent individuals that can help with each step of the transaction, and we may even become friends before it’s done.

I aim to bring a real-ness to the industry and help you as if you were my friend, not just a client and number on a spreadsheet. Times are changing, and I find it extremely important that we try and connect with others personally in this world that is quickly evolving toward a digital-only existence.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
The brokerage I represent has so many partnerships and resources not only for newer agents but also for seasoned agents to continue evolving their practices. A couple of must-reads are:
– How To Make Friends & Influence People
– The Millionaire Real Estate Agent
– Anything by Grant Cardone and Hal Elrod

I am someone that dives heavily into mindset because I believe your opportunity potential can only meet your level of personal development.
