Check Out Bunnie Reiss’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bunnie Reiss.

Hi Bunnie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
A wrinkle in time.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s never a smooth road when you’re time traveling, but it sure has been fun 😉

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m primarily a muralist, but I also have a focused and prolific studio practice. I love the tension between the two, one being so public and social and the other being a more quiet, private side. My work explores the cosmos, nature, magic, and the delicate human condition. I come from an Eastern European family, and my style is very much influenced by the folk art I grew up seeing. I constantly redefine many of the images from my childhood, recreating patterns, animals, colors, etc. and putting them back into the world under a different lens. I want the world to be a beautiful place where anyone can take a break from all the heartache, look at a mural, and feel a sense of something better.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Honesty, hope, being ok with who you are, knowing that this is not forever, enjoying sweatpants.
