Check Out Brandi Perse’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Perse.

Hi Brandi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Once I had my kids, I knew I wanted to start something for myself, but also to give back in some way. I had just adopted my first horse. He was really skinny and haggard. I began to learn about discarded horses. Some off the track and others who were being sold at auctions for consumption. I knew immediately that this was what I wanted to do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s all been a learning process. Taking in each horse has its own lessons and surprises. You never know what you’re going to get and some come in with numerous medical and behavioral issues. Finding the way to their heart isn’t always easy, but it’s well worth the effort.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I run a 501c3 nonprofit animal rescue. It’s called A little Rescue. We specialize in horses but also have had dairy calves, pigs, sheep, dogs. Our rescues stay with us until they are healthy both mentally and physically. Then we hope to find them forever homes. Otherwise, they always have a home with us.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Seeing these animals become the magical creatures they are meant to be. Knowing I have made a small difference in the world.

  • Our adoption fee starts at $750
