We recently had the chance to connect with Raziel Villarin and have shared our conversation below.
Raziel, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately going to concerts brings me so much joy. It’s like an escape from reality and my stressful life. There’s just something about live music that heals me
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Raziel Villarin and I have a lot of hobbies like photography, crafts, baking and many more. I love trying a lot of new things and that’s how I built my little small business. I crochet dolls, plushies and flowers for my small business and I love how I can do one of the hobbies I love as a business. I never really intended to have this as a business. It started when I discovered the Kpop group BTS. I wanted to have their plushies but they are usually sold out so I decided to crochet them for myself. I posted what I made on social media and it kind of blew up, all of a sudden I had so many people asking me to sell the plushies that I made. After that I just kept making new things and people loved them so I decided to make it my small little business and it’s been amazing! I am so grateful for everyone that is supportive of my small business. I’ve met so many amazing people because of it.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents taught me the most about work. They taught me that hard work pays off and that to never give up no matter how hard things get.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I could not count the times I wanted to give up because it felt like I was going nowhere in life, but I just keep pushing forward to accomplish my dreams. I am far from where I want to be but I keep fighting my hardest to get there everyday
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I think my closest friends would say that family really matters to me. There’s times where it might not seem like it but in everything I do I always think of how it will help, affect or benefit my family.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I go to concerts, it’s my escape from reality. Also when I go to events where I see my friends and customers that love and support what I do
