Story & Lesson Highlights with Mary Gallagher of Burbank, California

We recently had the chance to connect with Mary Gallagher and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Mary, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Moon-watching. I check in with it every night.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I am Mary Gallagher, a stand-up comic who loves to work with people who are curious about who they are. I have been performing stand-up comedy for decades. After being married and raising a child, I stepped away from my career. It was through returning to the mic that I began a deep dive into myself, in which I experienced my own personal awakening. In coming into my more authentic self, I began sharing that with others through the use of stand-up comedy. I love performing it, teaching others, and using it as a major tool for your soul’s expression.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I’m here to help others feel better about themselves.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
My pain transformed into my superpower when the foundation of my life crumbled. I was witnessing a cascading series of changes, and it became evident that surrendering to the flow was the only sensible course of action. All that remained was a state of witness consciousness. I realized that these changes were not happening to me; they were simply unfolding.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
Be Here Now

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
Walking into every uncomfortable situation I can find.
