Story & Lesson Highlights with Florentina Beck

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Florentina Beck. Check out our conversation below.

Florentina, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
A strong coffee to open my eyes,
packing lunch boxes and waking my kids for school.
Getting them ready with hugs and kisses
to make their day a little brighter.
Dropping them off, then coming home
to call my parents in Kosova.
Another coffee with my husband,
and then… the workday begins..

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Florentina Ademi Beck. I am an Albanian actress from Kosova, now living in Los Angeles with my husband and our children Enry and Era.
I have an amazing career in movies, theater, and television, performing in a wide range of roles that shaped me as an artist and storyteller. I hold a Master’s Degree in Arts from the University of Prishtina, and my work has been recognized internationally — including a Best Supporting Actress award at the World Independent Cinema Awards and a nomination at the Nice International Film Festival for my role in I, Father. and many best actress award in theater festivals in Kosovo.

Today, I am combining all my experience in acting, music, and education to build something close to my heart: Përshëndetje Fëmijë, a children’s educational and entertainment show in albanian on YouTube . It is special because it brings together learning, music, storytelling, and motion graphics to create fun, high-quality learning experiences for kids. Through this project, I want to connect children not only in Kosova and Albania, but also in the Albanian diaspora worldwide, with their culture and language.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
I grew up in Kosova during a difficult time of war, and my parents Naim and Hava Ademi were the people who shaped me the most. They raised me with courage, strength, and faith when life was uncertain and the future felt far away. They made me believe that freedom would come, and that even in the darkest times, there is always hope.

From the beginning, they taught me to chase my dreams. When I chose to pursue acting, they supported me completely. They were always there — in every performance, in every theater seat, at every premiere. I will never forget seeing their happy faces, full of pride. That joy gave me the confidence to continue and reminded me that my art mattered.

But beyond the applause and encouragement, the most important gift my parents gave me was the certainty that no matter what happened, they would always be there for me. Their love was unconditional, their support endless. They showed me how to stay positive, how to never stop believing, and how to keep doing good things, even in a world that sometimes felt broken.

My parents are the reason I became who I am today — as a woman, as an artist, and as a mother. Their strength during war, their faith in my dreams, and their unwavering presence in my life are treasures I carry with me always. To include here also me dear siblings and the love and connection we share for each other .

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be:
“All that you are wishing for right now is already complete. You made it. You created something beautiful with your life, and I am so proud of you. Trust that every challenge will lead you here — to love, family, art, and purpose.”

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
The project I am most committed to, no matter how long it takes, is Përshëndetje Fëmijë. This show is not just a project — it is my life’s mission. I believe deeply in giving children access to education, creativity, and culture in Albanian. It is about keeping our language and traditions alive while also opening doors for kids to dream bigger, to learn, and to feel proud of who they are.I am fully committed to growing and expanding Përshëndetje Fëmijë. So far, we have created 6 full episodes, 6 bedtime stories, 6 quizzes, and 4 original songs, and we are already working on more episodes and new content.

The feedback from both kids and parents has been incredible — they tell us how much the show is helping, entertaining, and inspiring their children. That positive response gives me even more energy and commitment to continue building this project.

What also makes Përshëndetje Fëmijë special is that it is truly a family project created for families. My husband Skender Beck is the creative director, composer, and editor of the show, while I lead as the actress, singer, and educator. Together, we pour our love and skills into creating something meaningful — a show that connects families through education, culture, and joy.

And this is just the beginning. Our dream is to keep expanding into more episodes, games, and platforms, so that Albanian children everywhere — in Kosova, Albania, and the diaspora — can enjoy and learn in their own language.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What pain do you resist facing directly?
I struggle with seeing children in pain, with injustice, with denial of truth and compassion. These wounds of the world in pain cut too deep, and sometimes it feels easier to look away. Yet, in my heart, I long for a world that is gentler, fairer, and more peaceful right now.
