Chris Wiggins shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Chris, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I recently passed my SPHR Certification by HRCI this fall. It’s advised that people take 6 months to study, I signed up to take the exam 6 weeks before the exam day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Chris B. Wiggins, former two time candidate and one time primary winner for U.S Representative.
I own Starmada Media, home of The Weekly Shift podcast and Bingers Assemble podcast.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mentor Eddie, I met him when I was 19, this is first person who believe in me unilaterally, he had no reason to but we vibes and saw a lot in me. First time I really received confidence from a male since I didn’t grow up with a dad or with uncles.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering shows you how far you can be broken. When you’re winning you’re on cloud 9 and feel invincible. When down in the dumps, you feel like you’re on 9 pins.
I always ask to see people’s scars or warts as that has a greater story than their medals.
Failure and struggle test you and extend the cup of what you can handle.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
I think folks that aren’t the sharpest can look at me and will find that I’m boisterous or over the top; without judging the medias that is said. I’m sure I come off as a shock jock to some in public, but those in private will say my thoughts and opinions are the same, they just understand the depth of me and what’s behind them.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I have a great sense of pride in service to others. I’m sure there are women I’ve dated or men on the outside that see this is simping or a type of subservience. To me this is the most amazing thing you can do, uplift and embolden others; so many have done this for me, and there only request is that I pay it forward.
