Story & Lesson Highlights with Badmon Zae of Los angeles

Badmon Zae shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Badmon, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I’m probably going to go with integrity. I can overlook lack of intelligence and mismatched energies but I can not over look you lacking integrity.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Badmon zae. I am a Rapper with a sound unlike any in the industry right now. I am well traveled and currently working on an album and the release of my first streetwear brand capsule.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Ultimately ego, pride, and trust are what breaks the bonds between people. It starts with trust which is already hard to obtain and easy to lose. Ego doesn’t allow your pride to allow you to trust again. Hopefully time but sometimes you Come to the realization that not all bonds are meant to be eternal.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of failure itself. Because in fearing failure I have not always applied myself to the best of my abilities in certain situations. Where risk may have rewarded me I have been overly conservative.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes! What you see is what you get because I never want to become a caricature of myself

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I would like to think I’m doing what I was born to do because I wake up every day choosing to do it. I guess you never really know until you die though because that is when the story is finished.
