Today we’d like to introduce you to Yacobucci.
Hi Yacobucci, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I always knew I was different. I never liked what other kids liked, I never really fit in. I fell in love with music at such a young age but never thought I would make my own. I soon started to write and freestyle about things that were bothering me or things I just needed to say but didn’t know how. I was terrified at what my family and friends would think if I ever showed them what I loved to do. I eventually let more and more people listen to what I was creating and realized I had a gift. Soon after dropping my very first project senior year of high school, I knew I had to take this music thing far. I headed out to live in Brooklyn to go to college after I graduated, but that was when I really knew what I had to do with my life. I would get amazing compliments and reactions from strangers after performing my music. I realized that my music is actually “good”! My father convinced me to leave school behind and chase my dreams. I will never forget those phone calls with him telling me that doing what I love will never be work. I saved up and moved to Los Angeles all by myself. I had no idea and still have no idea how to make this work. But I can definitely say I grow everyday and my music has reached new heights that I couldn’t be happier about. My newest album “Missed Calls & Better Days” is the best music I have ever made and I am so proud of that. I push myself to work work work until I can’t no more. It’s cheesy…. but I will not let myself fail. My dreams will come true.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The amount of obstacles or let downs in this industry is insane. It seems like everything you plan to do will always take a turn you weren’t expecting. That’s why I learned so early on to never get my hopes up and to never disregard the path that you can’t see. I’m very blessed that I am so young because I feel like I am learning years worth of experience in such short time. All I can do is trust God and keep going on my path.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a musical artist. I’m known for my fast rap delivery mixed with my catchy pop melodies. It’s hard to say what I am most proud of because I am proud of every little thing I do. Every piece of music, every item of clothing, every shoot for a video, etc. I am proud of the outcome because I know I gave it everything I have. Each little minute spent on my career is just as crucial as the next, so I make sure to make them count. At times it may seem unhealthy with how I work myself, but music is the only option I want.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
The best advice I have is to stay true to who you are and what you believe. If you have the drive and passion while also being a genuine person then the people you need in your life will naturally gravitate towards you. Don’t chase someone you think might help you. They must see you and believe in you first before anyone can help in your career.
