Rising Stars: Meet Viridiana Rodriguez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Viridiana Rodriguez.

Viridiana Rodriguez

Viridiana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a change-marker, I’m a cycle breaker, I’m a voice for love and healing.

I am Viridiana Rodriguez, a Latina Licensed Clinical Social Worker, daughter of immigrant parents, sister, Tia (aunt) but most importantly a human being just like you.

I’m Mexican-American, raised in Anaheim, California, and currently reside in Long Beach, California. I’m the youngest in my family and first generation in breaking many cycles. Although my family valued education deeply and supported my success, there was an overall lack of support for my emotional needs. I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2016 and launched my career with the Orange County Department of Education in 2013. Along my ten years of serving as a school-based mental health provider, I supported the Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD), Anaheim Union High School District (AUHSD), and the Irvine Unified School District (IUSD).

My mission has always been to give back to the community I grew up in and to provide the support that I had been missing in my own youth. Working in Anaheim for the AUHSD, where I attended school, was the truly the best blessing and gift. I felt like my life had come full circle, and my personal healing from those years was immense. My inner child felt so seen and proud of this milestone in my career.

In 2022, I decided to take a leap of faith and launch my own private practice. Amar Therapy, A Licensed Clinical Social Worker Professional Corporation.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, just like healing isn’t linear. As we decide to take risks in life, they will come with struggles as well. When I decided to take my business, Amar Therapy, to that higher level of entrepreneurship, I needed to get uncomfortable and outgrow parts of myself. I had to get out of my comfort zone and unlearn core beliefs about myself. I had to release thinking patterns such as “I can’t do this” and “I am not enough.” I’m a therapist who goes to therapy herself and practices what I preach. Therefore, I had to address those thinking patterns through different healing methods such as breathwork, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), cupping, massage therapy and reiki healing.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am known for all self-love things, good feel vibes, grounded therapist, reiki healer and emotionally supportive. As a therapist, I specialize in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy technique that helps people process and heal from traumatic experiences. During EMDR sessions, a therapist guides the person’s eye movements while they think about the distressing memory or event. This eye movement helps the brain process the memory in a healthier way, reducing the emotional pain associated with it.

I am launching a non-clinical program in August 2023, Amarte (self-love) Community. The Amarte Community is a transformative 12-week virtual program designed to help you cultivate and deepen your self-love. Limited to a small group of five women, this program offers a safe and supportive space for personal growth and self-discovery. Each week, we will explore different aspects of self-love, including self-compassion, self-acceptance, and self-care. We will have two guest holistic healers in which you will get to explore other methods of mind-body connection healing.

I am most proud of where I am right now. I believe in myself more than ever before. I’m trusting my own process in entrepreneurship.

How do you think about luck?
I like to see luck as alignment to herself and your future self. When you are in alignment with your values, lifestyle, core beliefs and self-love, “luck” will be in your favor. The more I have been in alignment with who I am, my life and business have felt like my purpose. The “bad luck” I like to see it as life lessons and ask myself, “What is this teaching me?” Let’s reflect together on the life lessons and if you are truly in your own alignment.
