Rising Stars: Meet Vee-Lo of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vee-Lo

Hi Vee-Lo, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I came to LA because one of my siblings got sick, so me and my family moved out here to be closer to his hospital. After my brother passed away I decided to write music as an outlet to deal with the pain. I’ve always been a great writer, but now there is more purpose to it. I just stayed consistent in my writing and asked people with experience how I can improve and thats what I did. Fast forward years later Im making good music, writing for myself and others and Im partnered with MIX studio! Im a rapper, singer, songwriter and much more with over 8 years of recording experience and been performing since 2018. It took me throwing my own shows to get the consistent show offers I do now. With over 10,000 hours of work with music. I can say Im ready to officially get started!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There definitely were challenges. In the beginning of my recording stages I didn’t have an engineer or a real studio to go to. On top of that dealing with how Im going to pay rent, finish school at LA Southwest, and getting familiar with the city itself. Later on dealing with multiple car accidents that set me back
I had to f*** up a lot to learn the right way to move. Thankfully I made some good friends out here and learned lessons from the L’s

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
For work at the moment Im in sales. Not my favorite decision, but Its teaching me business and I get to network with the people who got big money. Aside from that Im an artist and MAINLY an artist

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’ve taken so much risk for music. Risk that left me broke for a while and some risks that paid off good. If you’re not taking risk as an artist Im almost sure you’re not growing as one. I’ve taken risk with multiple show promoters, studios, and internet promo. Thats just a few for example. If you never take a risk in your career its hard to learn the right way to do things
