Today we’d like to introduce you to Valenttina Dias.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always known that I wanted to be a singer. But growing up in Brazil, that dream didn’t always feel like the most “realistic” path, so I initially tried to follow a more traditional route. I even did a semester of Economics in college. Still, no matter how much I tried to fit into a different direction, music kept calling me back. Eventually, I decided to fully commit to what I truly loved and moved to Los Angeles to pursue my career. I graduated from Icon Collective, a music school in LA, where I developed my sound and identity as an artist. Since then, I’ve been releasing music independently and building my career from the ground up.
A big part of my journey has been sharing my day-to-day life as an artist in Los Angeles on social media @valenttinadias, which has helped me grow a community of over 130k followers across platforms. Through that, I’ve been able to connect with people who relate to both the challenges and the wins of chasing a dream. I make pop music infused with Brazilian influences, both sonically and visually, and I love going beyond the music and building a full world around each release through visuals, performance, and storytelling. Every step has been about turning my vision into something real, and I feel like I’m just getting started.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not. Moving from Brazil to Los Angeles by myself at 18 meant starting an entirely new life from the ground up, without my family, my friends, or any sense of familiarity, while also stepping into a completely new industry. That alone gives you a picture of how challenging it’s been, but also how exciting. I truly love what I do, and that keeps me going, but it doesn’t make the hard parts disappear. There are moments of loneliness, missing home, and navigating everything on your own.
I see being an independent artist as a beautiful contradiction: you have full control over your vision and your career, but at the same time, you carry the full weight of it. You’re the artist, the strategist, the business manager, all at once, and that can be overwhelming. There are definitely days filled with doubt and insecurity, but when I chose this path, I made peace with the fact that it wouldn’t always be easy. I knew there would be nights where I’d be alone in my room, feeling everything, and I accepted that as part of the journey. To me, that’s what makes it real, no road worth taking is ever completely smooth.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a Brazilian pop artist, I believe what sets me apart starts with my discipline and work ethic. I truly give 110% to everything I do. I show up no matter what, and I pour myself into every song, every performance, and every visual I create. I’ve always believed that consistency and dedication can take you further than natural talent alone, and that mindset has shaped the way I approach my career.
Another big part of my work is the connection I’ve built with my audience. Through social media @valenttinadias, I’ve created a community that’s genuinely invested in my journey, which allows me to bring people into my world in a very real way. That connection naturally extends into the visual side of my artistry, which is a huge focus for me, and it’s been incredible to see it resonate. My most recent music video received three nominations at the Los Angeles Music Video Awards and won Best Music Video at the Mirala Film Festival. Being able to bring together my passions: music, dance, and visual storytelling, into one cohesive experience brings me so much joy and fuels me to keep growing, studying, and pushing myself further. I believe this is what truly sets me apart.
Any big plans?
In this next phase of my career, I’ve been spending more and more time in Brazil working, and I’ve been loving it. There’s such a beautiful global openness to Latin culture right now, and it makes me really excited to explore my roots in a deeper way through my music. I’ve been collaborating with incredible Brazilian producers and musicians and immersing myself in that environment, which has been both creatively inspiring and personally grounding.
Brazil brings me a sense of calm and happiness that really translates into my art. It unlocks emotions in me and leads to some of my most honest writing. This whole process has been such a meaningful exploration, both as an artist and as a person. I’m currently working on new music that carries even stronger Brazilian influences, with lyrics that feel more intimate, raw. It’s a new sound and a new chapter for me, and I’m really excited for people to hear what’s coming next.
