Rising Stars: Meet Stephanie Otero

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Otero.

Stephanie Otero is the CEO of Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino, the largest hunger relief organization serving the Inland Empire for 41 years. Stephanie initially started as the CFO of the food bank in 2016 and shortly after assumed the role of CEO. Stephanie is a seasoned expertise with over 20+ years of working in the nonprofit and accounting arena. As a child, Stephanie suffered from food insecurity, so helping to alleviate hunger in the I.E. is a mission that she is dedicated to and is close to her heart. Originally from New Mexico, Stephanie has called Southern California home for more than 25 years. She lives in Upland with her husband, two children, and goldedoodle, Yogi.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Stephanie was born impoverished in a rural town in New Mexico. Overcoming poverty became the main focus for Stephanie and provided the motivation she needed to graduate high school, college and obtain her CPA license. In addition, Stephanie became an entrepreneur and held her own CPA practice for 13 years before her role as CEO of FARSB. In addition, Stephanie is also a published co-author with her book “Navigating Entrepreneurship” which provides reliable and steadfast information for budding entrepreneurs.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Stephanie is currently the CEO of Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino (FARSB)

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Stephanie doesn’t attribute her success to luck but rather determination, survival skills, and perserverance.
