Today we’re excited to be connecting with Sofia Bragar again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Sofia, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
Of course! I am a born and raised Chilean actress, singer, dancer, model, and writer, among other artistic pursuits! Honestly, I wouldn’t be me without my creativity. I love performing both on stage and on screen, and I’ve been fortunate enough to do so professionally for the past four years.
Lately, I’ve been primarily focused on my acting career. Some of my on-screen credits include Augment on Amazon Prime, Camille, Five-Tool Player, Feeling Vertigo, D-Day for Denise, and Imposter The Series. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with the ReelShort App in supporting roles such as Amanda in The CEO’s Contract Wife, Sabina in The Alpha’s Daughter, and Maya in The Boss Affair, among others. On stage, my credits include Musical Theatre West Spring 2023 Educational Tour, In The Heights as Daniela, Rent as Mimi, Fame as Carmen, The Pajama Game, and Cassandra, where I originated the role of Lachesis/Athena in The Hollywood Fringe Festival 2022, among others.
As mentioned earlier, I am from Chile. I moved to LA in 2018 for college and graduated with a BFA in Performing Arts: Musical Theatre from AMDA. I obtained my artist visa, and here I am, still working in the industry!
Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
A recent update in my life: due to a knee injury, I underwent surgery and decided to move to Florida for recovery. 2024 was all about focusing on myself and healing—both physically and emotionally. It was rough, but so necessary. After a long journey of reinventing myself (which I don’t think I’m done with yet), I felt ready to return to work, so I did!
For a few months, this injury actually led me to focus more on my writing. During this time, I finished two scripts.
I was also fortunate enough to co-write and perform one of them—my first comedic short play, Simplemente Un Tema De Perspectiva—at the Brisk Festival in Buenos Aires. The Brisk Festival, a short play competition founded in LA by Christian Rodrigo, selected my play from hundreds of script submissions to be part of Buenos Aires’ first edition of the festival. In November, we performed it at Teatro Border in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and it was an amazing experience. It felt incredible to combine two of my passions into one project. So, I guess I can now add the on-stage credit of Catalina in Simplemente Un Tema De Perspectiva to my resume 😉
In addition, I was invited to participate in two different radio shows in Buenos Aires: one with Radio Zonica, called La Dimensión Matrera, and the other with FM 106.5, Mundo Sur. It felt refreshing to do these with the amazing hosts Ramón Falchetti and Juan Lucero, respectively.
I also signed with Talent Direct Agency back in October, an amazing talent agency in Florida. Thankfully, this has already brought me many opportunities. I’ve worked on multiple commercials and met many people in the industry here.
Fun achievement: 2024 was the year I traveled the most. I love traveling, and I want to continue exploring new places in the years to come! I’m definitely looking forward to what 2025 has to offer.
We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?
