Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherry Lowenstein.
Hi Sherry, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my kid’s art studio just before my oldest son turned 2 yrs old. I was taking him to all the mommy and me classes in town and realized messy art classes are what’s missing! So I created a space where kids can have a fun adventure, make a mess, and enjoy the art process with a lot of freedom!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I had a lot of great support from mom friends in the community however starting something from nothing is never easy! I did everything to promote my business, from talking to random moms on the playground to texting every single person in my phone to get people to show up for my classes. It took time to gain momentum but the effort was worth it. I wasn’t willing to give up on something I truly believed in so much.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am the owner/founder of Artsy Fartsy Studio. We specialize in creating an exciting art experience for young kids. We are a space where you’re allowed to make a mess and try new things without many boundaries limiting your creativity. I am so proud that my studio has allowed families to create so many memories together whether it’s through our weekly art classes, special birthday parties and summer camps. Artsy Fartsy classes are known for being different from the rest! We are constantly dripping in sensory and art activities – always lush and always trying new things – our events feel like a Kid’s Art Festival!
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I always loved art, it was what I did to relax and center myself. I am one of 3 sisters who grew up in the valley to Israeli immigrant parents.
I caught the travel bug early and traveled to Israel, Italy, Switzerland, France, & England by the time I was 13 years old. Traveling was and still is a huge artistic inspiration to me. The way a new city looks and feels can create new ideas for the art projects we do. I also often bring back new materials for our classes when I travel.
Pricing:
- Classes usually range from $20-$45
- Birthday Parties base pricing $650 +
- Summer Camps $500-$600 per camper
