and it would be nice if you could go through it as my background summary is there in it. I just made my maiden trip to LA last month and I was awarded my International Innovators Award there. As an actor I would like to increase my scope of work to US and start with LA. The writeup in your magazine can be instrumental in connecting the dots.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life when smooth then we lose the charm of it. So our life will have challenges. In the world that we live it’s easy now for a woman talk about the sexual challenges that she faces as an actor in the acting industry. Post MeToo it became easy for the women to come out and talk about it. Some stories were real and some stories were fake but the good thing was that women were talking and that in itself was a great achievement.
I met a director who was married but projected his marriage to be in bad state. When they befriend you but expect sexual favours for giving you a role then its a sad state of affairs. But I spoke about a particular director as it affected my mental health at that point pushing me to alcohol. I faced the repercussions of talking. I had to shift my area of focus from acting in films to acting in television and doing reality shows.

Mrs Payal Rohatgi is a Gujarat Board Topper, and a Computer Engineer who took fancy to cinema, television and acting as a result of being a finalist in Femina Miss India 2000 contest. Her love and passion for acting developed during the short training period for Femina Miss India and she grabbed the opportunities that came her way during the finals of it. Since then she has never looked back.
Payal is an actor of repute and has been in the industry for almost 15 years and has done a number of good films and many serials that speak well of her abilities and flexibilities to adapt to different roles and switch from big screen to small scream and vice versa.
She has bagged the title of ‘Supermodel Miss Tourism World 2002’ that was hosted in Medellin, South America. Apart from being an actor, Payal has ‘walked the ramp’ as showstopper for various Indian designers like Nitya Bajaj Birla, Sanjana John, Archana Kochhar, Ken Ferns, and Asmi and Gili jewellery etc. She ‘walked the ramp’ internationally as a showstopper at Los Angeles Fashion Week on Oct 20th 2024 which marked her international ramp walk debut as an Indian Actress.
Her notable assignments in Hindi cinema are 36 China Town, Dhol, Dil Kabaddi, Rakht, Plan, Hey Babyy, to name a
few. TV projects which include fiction and non-fiction shows are BiggBoss season-2 reality show, Survivor India season-1 reality show, Nach Baliye season-7 reality show, Suryaputra Karn tv serial, Humsafar tv serial, Zor ka Jhatka reality show, etc.
She became the first runner up in a captive reality show #LockUpp season-1 which was telecasted on two OTT platforms simultaneously i.e. AltBalaji and MXPlayer in May 2022.
She has done TV commercials for Nescafe, Jaguar, Dabur Amla, Amul Milk, etc which were shot by prominent directors like Pralad Kakkar, Abhinay Deo, Pradeep Sarkar, etc to name a few.
Payal is a mass entertainer in ‘live shows’ with large gatherings and has many shows to her credit. She had been associated with Country Club for 6 years for their New Year events. She has performed internationally at events held in Malaysia for a Regional award function and in Nepal for a Pre-Diwali function. She also does stage shows for corporate events at schools, colleges, and reputed brands.
She has anchored few TV shows and corporate awards functions like ‘Brand Impact’ awards , Ebix – Ready to Race conference, which is Nasdaq listed global company to name a few.
She is an extempore speaker, and is always ready to debate on any sensitive or current issue or for a cause on any platform.
She has recently initiated a hobby of video recording her opinions to convey her thoughts to her fans on a wide range of subjects. But her intentions in her opinionated videos is to create awareness for education purposes or expose corruption or any other kind of deceit that harm fellow citizens.
She supports for #VocalForLocal campaign that promotes the thought of ‘Atmanibhar Bharat’.
Mrs Rohatgi’s biggest asset is to explore, initiate, and execute with ‘Come What May’ attitude.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I love the VN application as I use that to edit my videos that I make for social media. I like to read books but they are mostly thriller stories that interest me along with history stories. Iphone 13 pro max has been a great equipment to shoot pictures and videos.
