Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Leal.
Hi Nicole, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I’ve been a salon owner for over a year and it’s been such a rewarding experience. During a time of uncertainty, the only thing that was certain of me was how much I love being a hairstylist and the passion I have for our industry. When the opportunity came to open a salon with three other partners it felt like the perfect timing.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s never a smooth road and we had a lot of challenges with opening a new business but it’s to be expected.
We had daily obstacles with construction, waitlists for decor, and finding our rhythm as partners. The best mindset was to understand that it was all a temporary situation and that the growing pains would probably last for the first year of business.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In the salon, I offer cuts, color, and extensions. Full-service customer service with a boutique salon feel. Client experience is very important to me and it’s what sets me apart from others. I’m also part of a hair education platform called Sunday School and we teach stylists all over the US.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory would be from elementary school. Every few months we would pick books from a catalog and get stickers as a perk. I remember my parents always let me get the books that would warm my heart.
