Rising Stars: Meet Nas B

If you haven’t heard about Nas B, then it’s time to open up your internet apps or even turn on your television and get caught up. From Netflix’s Original Rhythm & Flow contest to International sensation, Nas B is changing the world with her infectious personality and willingness to speak up and stand up for the people who are afraid too. With millions of eyes on her around the world she vowed to use her platform to change the world in hopes to change one of the biggest industries of today.

Nas B was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, but shortly after her family moved to Little Rock, Arkansas where she was raised. Nas B became a teen mom at 17 years old, that’s when things took a turn for the worse. Wanting a fresh start Nas B packed up her things and drove 25 hours from Little Rock, Arkansas to Los Angeles, California with her at the time one year old daughter. After only two months in California, Nas ended up homeless and forced to move back home to Arkansas. She was determined to get back to LA, after a fall out with her parents, she ended up moving back to Los Angeles where she ended up residing for six years, this time her hustle was endless where she started Modeling, Acting, Started two businesses and even gotten some reality tv opportunities and also started her music career. Not really having a whole lot of guidance and not having any family, things got harder for Nas as she then started battling depression and felt the need to leave Los Angeles. She then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where her life would completely change. The start was rough at first, as Nas and her daughter ended up homeless and could not get employed because of Nas’s criminal record at the time. Nas knew that she needed to do something and that she couldn’t keep repeating the same cycle over and over. So she started Cosmetology school to become a Nail Technician, where she then dropped out during covid and had to teach herself because of the lack of education she receiving.

With less then two years of being a Self-taught Nail Technician, 27 years old Nas B has exceeded everyone’s expectations and has become a huge Internet sensation and impact to thousands of women and service providers around the world. Less than two years ago Nas B was homeless battling depression and decided to turn pain into passion as she took her long-time love for nails and made a career out of it. Cosmetology School dropout decided she’d be the voice for the lack of education, overpriced, and outdated curriculum. After losing the man that raised her, her stepfather to Cardiac Arrest in July 2021, she knew that she had to leave something behind for her daughter and family and would do whatever it took to make sure of that. Nas B has been on a Nationwide Nail tour where she has taught LICENSED & UNLICENSED nail technicians how to perfect their craft and build their business into their own massive empire. On this quest, she’s learned that she and hundreds of her students have one thing in common, their mutual feelings on the lack of education received while in cosmetology/nail schools.

Nas B says it’s time for a change, and she is willing to go to war with anyone who gets in her way on her journey to request a change in this billion-dollar industry. With the help of journalists, news reporters, radio stations, and podcasters around the world Nas B wants to shed light and spread awareness in hopes to get the right people involved to update the treatment and curriculum for service providers all around the world.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road for Nas, with being homeless several times along the way making many mistakes along the way. Nas has a huge heart and wants to help as many people as she can and sometimes that’s not a good thing for her. Helping a lot of the wrong people has been a huge struggle for Nas. After the passing of her Stepfather, Nas was on the verge of giving up, she spent weeks battling depression and even had to overcome thoughts of suicide. Being a single mother hasn’t been the easiest but Nas carries her challenges like a warrior and has been able to use her struggles to push her and motivate others.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Nas B is a now Famous Nail Technician/Nail Instructor. She teaches women and men all around the world how to become better at what they do. She is mostly known for reacting to Nail Videos on FACEBOOK, TIKTOK, & SNAPCHAT where she has received over 20 Million Views. Some know Nas from her time as a Musician and appearance on Netflix’s Rhythm & Flow. She is most proud of being able to pick herself up after the passing of her stepfather, it gave her a different drive and purpose. Nas’s unapologetic, infectious, outgoing personality sets her aside from others because she doesn’t care about conforming to what others want her to be she is just simply NAS F***ing B, she’s not afraid to be herself, she’s not afraid to stand up for herself nor others.

How do you think about luck?
Nas isn’t really a believer in luck, she’s a firm believer in God and believes that he allows us to go through things good or bad to mold us, to teach us, to allow us to grow through anything in life or business and put our trust in him. Nas is Blessed no matter what good or bad has happened in her life.
