Today we’d like to introduce you to Marjan Fadaei Gohari.
Hi Marjan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I actually studied accounting and worked in that field both in my country and here in the U.S. I also earned certificates in accounting and tax preparation, which helped me a lot when it came to establishing and managing our business. But my passion for baking goes all the way back to my childhood—baking was always my hobby, and everyone around me encouraged me. I dreamed of having my own bakery one day.
After coming to the U.S., I worked hard in accounting as well as in several bakeries to gain more experience. I later earned my culinary certificate from West Valley Occupational Center. With my background in accounting, tax preparation, hands-on bakery experience, and lifelong passion, I finally decided to start my own business. It’s been a long journey, but one that means so much to me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When I first came to the U.S., my son was only 9 years old, and starting a new life while raising him added a lot of pressure. I had to learn the language, adjust to a new culture, and work multiple jobs just to build stability. There were many long days and sleepless nights.
Starting a business was also challenging financially and emotionally. I had limited resources and had to balance everything at once—taking care of my son, working in accounting, gaining experience in bakeries, improving my skills, and saving enough to open my own shop. There were moments when I felt discouraged, but I never gave up.
I truly believe this country offers more opportunities, and that if you work hard, you can reach your goals. Every challenge taught me something and made me stronger. With dedication, persistence, and support from my family and community, I was able to overcome those struggles and turn my passion into a growing business.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At our bakery, we specialize in cakes and desserts for all occasions—birthdays, weddings, baby showers, and celebrations of every kind. I focus on creating cakes that are not only beautiful on the outside but also delicious on the inside. Customers often come to us for detailed designs, unique themes, and flavors that truly stand out.
I’m most known for my buttercream work, clean designs, and my ability to bring a customer’s vision to life, even from just an inspiration photo. Many clients tell us they appreciate the consistency, the attention to detail, and the warm, friendly service they receive each time.
What sets me apart is the combination of creativity and strong business skills. With my background in accounting and tax preparation, I manage the business with professionalism, while my culinary training and lifelong passion help me focus on quality and artistry. I truly care about every order, big or small, and take pride in making each customer feel special.
I also met my husband here, and he has encouraged me every step of the way. During my challenges, he was always patient and supportive, which helped me continue pushing forward and growing the business.
What I’m most proud of is building this business from the ground up—starting with just a dream and turning it into a place where families return year after year. Seeing customers enjoy our cakes and celebrate their most important moments with something I created is the greatest reward.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is creating something that brings joy to people and building a business that reflects hard work, honesty, and love. Every cake we make becomes part of someone’s special moment, and knowing that our work is included in their memories means a lot to me.
Family is also very important. My journey began because I wanted to give my son a better life and show him that with dedication and effort, anything is possible. Today, he’s 22 and serving in the Marine Corps, which makes me incredibly proud. That’s why I value kindness, respect, and always doing my best in everything I do.
I truly believe that when you work with passion and treat people well, success will naturally follow. This belief has guided me from the beginning and continues to shape the way I run my business today. Now, I’m ready to help others who want to establish their own bakery, and I can share my experience with them to guide and support their journey.
