Rising Stars: Meet Marie Wilde of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marie Wilde

Hi Marie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I got my start in school after I got cast in a touring show. This led to me getting scouted for an Irene Ryan. From there, I was given admission into an acting conservatory and started pursuing professionally. I was gaining momentum then Covid changed the landscape. I decided to pivot into growing an online presence alongside my acting.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not exactly; there has been disappointments and achievements. Things like plans not going how you hoped, a partnership falling through, or not knowing what’s next until it shows up. Add the strikes on top of that— a lot of patience and optimism were necessary. I took the opportunity for self-improvement and growing my platform to keep busy and inspired. Fortunately, these things, good and bad, have required me to trust myself. I say pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an actress! Although my specialty is in drama, I do well with comedy as well. I’ve done short films and that’s how some of my supporters found me (and online). I have so many proud moments, but I’m most proud of going to my first film festival (we just got into our second!). I got to see the poster and myself on screen. Moments like that made the weight of my efforts much more real. I got to see how capable I am in fulfilling my dreams.
I feel what sets me apart from others is my essence. I’m confident in my gifts, but who I am outside of that is more important (and enjoyable!).

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
People would be surprised to know that I can juggle! It’s a random skill I learned a while back.
