Today we’d like to introduce you to Lesly Chavez.
Lesly, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Lesly A. Chavez is the founder of Seals on Wheels Notary, a business built on resilience, faith, and family. After a career in banking, Lesly was laid off during the 2007 mortgage crisis. Instead of giving up, she saw an opportunity to start a mobile notary business. From those challenging beginnings, she poured her heart into the company, earning a reputation for excellence that now boasts over 3,000 positive reviews.
As the business grew, Lesly transformed it into a family affair, bringing in her son, sister, daughter, and nephew to build the company together. This has allowed Seals on Wheels to expand its services far beyond standard notary work, assisting clients with complex needs like international documents, destination weddings, and hospital visits. The company is even known as the “celebrity notary public.”
For Lesly, success isn’t just about business growth; it’s about giving back. She and her team are deeply committed to their community, donating to Hope of the Valley, supporting orphaned children in Tijuana and Ensenada, and helping social workers provide free notary services to hospital patients who can’t afford them.
After 14 years, Lesly’s journey is a powerful testament to rolling with the punches, maintaining faith, and embracing a positive attitude. It’s a story not just about surviving a crisis, but about building a thriving, compassionate enterprise from the ground up.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. Every business faces challenges, and we’ve had our share. The most significant one was the initial period of getting the business off the ground with no client base. However, I’ve always believed that challenges are opportunities in disguise. We’ve managed to turn every obstacle into a learning experience, and it’s that persistence that has allowed us to grow and serve our clients so effectively for 14 years..
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
”I am the founder of Seals on Wheels Notary, a mobile notary service. We provide a wide range of services, going beyond a simple signature. We handle everything from standard notarizations to more complex needs, like documents for dual-citizenship, destination weddings, and international corporations. We also offer LiveScan fingerprints, wedding officiant services, and we even assist at hospitals and correctional facilities.
We are a 24/7 business, and that’s our key differentiator. We are available when others aren’t, often traveling to clients at a moment’s notice, which is why we’ve earned over 3,000 positive reviews. Our reputation is built on our professionalism and the personal touch we bring to every interaction, which is why we’ve become known as the ‘celebrity notary public’ because of the discreet and professional service we provide to high-profile clients.
How do you think about luck?
As for good luck, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have a strong family that believed in my vision and was willing to join me on this journey. Their support and dedication are the best ‘good luck’ a person could ask for. I also feel lucky to have a business that allows us to help so many people—from our clients to those in need in our community. I see our success as a result of hard work and faith, but also the good fortune of being in a position to make a difference.
