Rising Stars: Meet Jasmine Elizalde of Bay Area, CA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Elizalde.

Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story is one of growth, discovery, and finding my own path. As a first generation daughter, I did not have a roadmap for life, and for a long time, I was not sure where I belonged. Growing up, I often felt out of step with school and unsure of what I wanted to do. I spent a lot of time figuring out my interests and strengths, learning thought trial, reflection, and experience.

Over time, I discovered a passion for the legal field. I was drawn to its focus on problem solving, critical thinking, and advocating for others, all qualities that felt natural to me and aligned with the person I wanted to become. Choosing this path was not about following someone else’s expectations, it was about finding where I could make a meaningful impact while growing into my best self. Everything I have experienced along the way, the doubts, the lessons, and the victories, has shaped me and brought me to the person I am today.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey has not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges I faces was changing fields and figuring out what I truly wanted to pursue. That transition came with a lot of self doubt, as I questioned whether I was making the right choice and if I could succeed in a new field.

During this transition, my father suddenly passed away. It was an incredibly difficult moment that affected many aspects of my life and forced me to navigate grief while continuing to move forward.

Despite these struggles, each challenge has taught me resilience and self advocacy. Learning to trust myself, adapt to change, and keep moving forward has shaped me into a stronger, more focused person. My path has not been easy, but it has prepared me for the work and dedication needed to succeed.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work as a Paralegal and hope to specialize in family law, a field that allows me to support and advocate for families during difficult times. My work gives me the opportunity to apply critical thinking while also making a meaningful impact on the lives of the people I assist.

I am most proud of creating my website, JassiUnscripted, which shares my journey and experiences, including my journey of becoming a paralegal. It is both a space for reflection on my personal growth and a resource hub for others interested in the legal field. My website includes guidance, tips, and tools for navigating education within the paralegal profession, and it reflects my commitment to helping and inspiring others along their paths.

What sets me apart is my resilience, dedication , and genuine desire to make a positive impact. Despite obstacles, I put my whole self into everything I do. I enjoy helping people, constantly learning, and finding ways to grow and improve as a woman. These qualities allow me to connect with others, advocate effectively, and bring empathy, determination, and focus to every aspect of my personal and professional life.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as growth, impact, and fulfillment. For me, it is not just about a title, it is about learning from challenges, continuously improving, and using my skills to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Success means staying true to my values, pursuing goals that align with my passions, and looking back knowing that the effort I out in has contributed not only to my own development but also to helping and inspiring those around me.
