Rising Stars: Meet Edward Perez I I of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Edward Perez I I

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Well this all began when I was a kid, my curiosity drove me to dive into music on a deeper level and learn. It all started when I first wanted to know who my father was so I would sneak into his study and listen to his cassettes, vinyls and CD’s. It opened up my world with color to the music, emotions that can be expressed through sound. Years later I learned to push myself to learn music theory and music production at the time as I was DJ. I sought out people who would be able to help me get bookings but I was way too young at the time.. Until I met a guy name David and he opened the doors for me at a really young age to express myself in DJ at the clubs. Years later I’m here now.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not lol. I think that people have this perspective on what the music industry looks like and not what it actually takes. Thank god I had the support from my amazing parents to believe in the dream so it really kept me going to push the boundaries that I knew I could even when going got tough.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Things that set me apart from others is my commitment to the people around me, my unique imaginative sound in producing, and my drive to continue to push myself forward and bring my loved ones with me. For the most part a-lot of people know me as Eddy P. I am the owner of SoundWav Records a minimal deep tech house music label based in LA. A lot of people don’t know this but I mix and master all of my tracks and other tracks internationally, along with that I perform locally around LA as well as travelled overseas for gigs.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Well I am a simple man, I really do love the little things in life. Either that being spending time with family or friends but one thing I know a lot of people don’t know is I also have my moments. I am human after all! In those moments it is very important to me to make sure I reflect and get myself together.
