Rising Stars: Meet Brielle Anyea

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brielle Anyea.

Hi Brielle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story? 
I’m a plus size model and budding entrepreneur in Los Angeles. I’ve spent 10 years modeling for many brands like Nike, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, H&M, and more. 

I have a passion for encouraging women to be proud of who they are and what they look like. Fashion shouldn’t be meant for one size, and it definitely shouldn’t make sales on women’s insecurities. I’ve been using my voice in the fashion industry to push for change, making sure more diverse models are given a chance, more women feel good about what they put on their bodies, and making sure businesses mean what they say about inclusion. 

I started a size-inclusive brand in 2019 called Misses Brie that did everything I preached about. It went viral in 2020 and won 2 awards for forward-thinking in marketing, sustainability, and diversity. The business is currently on a hiatus, and I am excited to relaunch this year. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve faced many obstacles being bigger woman trying to make change. I remember being told by industry professionals I need to lose weight, find a new job, and my little business won’t sell well because I am catering to everyone. But I succeeded in every way. I’m sad to have to pause my business but exited for the rebrand. I truly believe that what’s meant for you will be. I am currently still modeling and having a blast while doing so. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Internationally signed model to State Management LA, Curve Models Germany, Bella Models Australia. Working for almost 10 years for major brands worldwide. Also, I teach aspiring models on how to get started as a model in the industry. 

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love soap ASMR videos, rabbits, and spending time in the mountains with my dog.
