Rising Stars: Meet Alayna Licardi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alayna Licardi

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have a decade of experience in the entertainment industry starting my career as a model in Florida, where I laid the foundation for my future. My transition into styling was facilitated by valuable connections I established during my modeling career in New York and Los Angeles. This journey has enriched my expertise and broadened my creative horizons, allowing me to excel in the dynamic world of styling.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The transition to styling in 2020 was challenging, as I started during the height of COVID-19, which made it slow to gain momentum. I fostered as many relationships as I could then so it would hopefully spread once we were out of the pandemic. I was able to continue those relationships and make new ones which has helped my career tremendously. Overall, it has been more rewarding and easier than modeling was.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a costume designer, my passion lies in crafting characters and weaving stories through my designs. I’m known for my distinctive style that blends masculine and feminine elements, creating looks that are both unique and evocative. What really sets me apart is my easy-going nature and the strong, personal connections I’ve built over the years, which I believe make my work truly collaborative and special. I’m especially proud of how my designs help bring stories to life and contribute to the overall narrative in a memorable way.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’ve been incredibly lucky to have many mentors who’ve guided me with their wisdom and advice over the years. My parents have been my rock, offering unwavering support and encouragement whenever things get tough. Plus, my friends in the industry have been my cheerleaders, providing the motivation and camaraderie that keep me going and inspired.
