Meet Zeus Campbell of Top Rope Zeus in Sherman Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zeus Campbell.

Zeus, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
So I started my YouTube channel back in 2012, as a social worker in Norfolk, VA. I began uploading my web relationship series “Hump Day Romance,” in which I created after a sobering breakup. Hump Day Romance is a relationship web series where I give my personal & sometimes funny perspective about relationships and how to navigate thru them. The first episode that went viral was a video called “Stay in your lane insurance,” where I compared dating people to your car insurance. It got me a lot of attention on the internet Eventually I received a message from a manager in LA, who saw one of my videos go viral on Facebook and she reached out to me and became a manager. I was shocked because I was living in Virginia, which almost 3,000 miles across the country. A few months later, I realized that there was nothing left for me in Virginia, I pretty much hit the ceiling and I needed to go emerge myself fully in my industry.

So I begin to prepare to move to LA. A few weeks before I move to LA, I find out that I am going to be a father, my whole world stopped. It was one of the most scariest & Sobering times in my life because I had worked for years to get to this point & just like that my whole world changed. I was pressured to stay at home and to give up my dreams, I was pressured to give up everything that I had worked for and reshape my life’s purpose. It was just a very challenging time, I had to decide what I wanted my life to be not what others wanted it to be. I decided that I was going to live my dreams and be a great dad! When I moved LA, I didn’t know a lot of people, I didn’t have any real connections, no formal acting training.

I just I had to Live my Dreams & Not My Reality. I worked as a writer, producer, on-camera talent & janitor for this production studio in Hollywood. Hours days but I was just happy to have a job. In the 2 1/2 years that I’ve been in LA, I am blessed to say have booked numerous commercials, Pilots. I have written and produced for BuzzFeed, I became the voice of a narrator for the hit TV show on the Investigation Discovery Channel entitled “Homicide City”. Most recently, my cast members and I Won in the 2019 Academy Awards for our short film “SKIN”, Which was acquired by FOX Searchlight.” After all this success, the one thing that I know is that I still don’t know Sh*t. Lol While acting & producing for other projects, I inspire to continue to help people all over the world with my Digital Web-series “HUMP DAY ROMANCE”.

Has it been a smooth road?
Learning I was going to be a father, a few weeks before moving to LA hit me very hard. Being 3,000 away from my family in VA has been challenging to overcome. Self-doubt plays apart after a while offing in LA because most of us are just trying to stay above water. It’s expensive to live here, money has been a major concern and focus. Its a struggle sometimes to stay emerged in your dream & vision for your life when you are sleeping on someone’s couch. It takes a lot of persistence and belief in self…..Did I mention Money?

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m most known for my internet content. Hump Day Romance has really opened a lot of doors for me to walk into other opportunities. I specialize in making people think and feel. My content touches the soul because it’s coming from a pure place of love, ignorance, common sense, humility and talking a little shit. Lol

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
LA is the place that your life can change with one call. That shit is real, I have seen it. It’s also a place where you can meet other like-minded people and work and build with them. LA can improve on not being so sensitive when it comes to other opinions that differ from they’re’s. At times I have had to calm down who I am in order to make others feel comfortable in their own skin.
