Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Paul.
Stephanie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Originally from New Zealand, growing up with 14 years of experience in dance training, competition, and professional performance was a solid beginning to where I have ended up today. I have always had itchy feet to travel, maybe because my parents introduced me to travel from a very young age. I have always been a seeker of knowledge, the truth, and life experiences. I had the fortunate opportunity to work as an international runway and fashion model and live and work in Milan, Paris, Sydney, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and New York, eventually settling down in America, where I reside today. As a model, I also had a flourishing career in TV commercials, which eventually led to my career shifting into acting, stand-up comedy, and a holistic background in TV and film production. Producing, directing, and choreographing live and video events became an incredible base for what I am doing now.
Fourteen years ago, I began to morph that background into a coaching and training business, starting with speakers, presenters, and pitching executive teams for fundraising — ultimately helping collectively raise nearly a billion dollars in financing for Series B–D start-up funds. I also worked in the TED talk arena and coached over 70 speakers Internationally and was the organizer and executive producer of TEDx Mission Viejo.
As a seeker of knowledge, I consistently like to challenge myself and began to train and get certified, earning credentials as a Life Action Coach, Executive Leadership Coach, and a certified trainer in five behavioral and psychological assessments, including Emotional Intelligence.
Eventually downloading my collective knowledge into an introductory book for my clients, I authored “Unlock The MAGIC of Story” – How to Use Neuroscience to Influence and Persuade Any Audience. I have spent the last 10 years focused on developing my program, The Y.O.U. Method — an operating system for business performance and human impact. You will often hear me say in my speaking and training engagements, “The most powerful story you will ever tell is the one between your ears.”
Today, my expertise includes consulting, coaching, and training across a variety of topics, including science-backed storytelling, human behavior, communication, emotional intelligence, and leadership — mainly in the STEM and technology fields. I have an online training program that includes a hybrid LIVE group coaching component, and every three weeks I release a LinkedIn newsletter, Bites of Leadership Wisdom, Soft Skills & Neuroscience-Backed Insights, to elevate communication, trust, and team cohesion.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Anybody who tells you their life has been a smooth road must be living under a smooth rock! We live with the human condition, and that comes with ups and downs, wins and losses. I’ve had plenty of struggles along the way, and I’ve also had plenty of opportunities and amazing things cross my path. Life throws us curveballs consistently, and it’s what we do with them that matters most. It’s important that we take care of ourselves individually just as much as we take care of and serve others.
I think the biggest struggle of all has been taming my own mindset and belief system — being tenacious enough to show up again and again with every knock and continue to move forward, even when the odds were against me. Self-leadership, holding on to my values and integrity, working toward discipline, goals, action, consistency, and congruency between my words and actions has always helped.
I lived through loss, close family and friends deaths, divorce, life altering health issues, step parenting etc.. it is all part of life.
The biggest obstacle I’d have to say would be me — learning to get over myself, let go of ego, and step fully into purpose.
We’ve been impressed with Stephanie Paul Inc, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I believe it’s best to let others speak for your work and I have over 70 recommendations on my LinkedIn profile https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephaniepaulinc/ However I am most proud of how my work in communication and storytelling through leadership over the years has developed into the Y.O.U. Method.
The Y.O.U. Method™ is not coaching.It’s not training.It’s not a personality framework.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck is where opportunity and preparation come together. The “bad luck,” one could say, has been when I was not prepared for the moment and took a loss because I wasn’t ready or was ignorant of my situation. The good luck has always come when I was prepared for the storm, the moment, or the win.
Confidence is present when we are prepared. The way you practice life is the way you prepare for it, and it will be the way you show up — and that is 100% my responsibility.
