Meet Stacy Larsen of MPC Gold

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Larsen.

Hi Stacy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been a Puppy Raiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind for the past 24 yrs, having raised a total of 21 dogs for the blind community. Guide Dogs for the Blind specifically uses Golden Retrievers & Labrador Retrievers. Over the years, I realized how amazing these breeds were & why they made such great service dogs but with those breeds also comes a higher likelihood of allergies & skin issues. After many vet visits chasing these problems, I thought that the answer may be in the products I was using on their skin & fur. Unfortunately, none of the shampoos on the market seemed to be gentle enough, while taking care of the problem. We then partnered with a client of mine at work that owned a botanical laboratory not far from us. After working together, he was able to come up with a completely organic, 100% natural shampoo line. From there things just started to take off. The interest we received from so many pet owners that were desperately looking for a product that was gentle enough to use on all pets & humans alike, while not growing broke at the same time, was amazing. Over the years we’ve grown our line from an everyday, original shampoo & leave in conditioner, to specialty shampoos that include a dry skin/anti itch shampoo (a fan favorite), equine, deep cleansing & outdoor shampoo. We also include a hot spot healing oil & body mist in the line up. All of our products are made of essential oils & are chemical, sulphate & paraben free. On top of working with a wonderful organization like Guide Dogs for the Blind, I feel so blessed that I can be a part of helping pets, from hamsters all the way up to livestock, look & feel their best!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting any business is never without its fair share of struggles. Everyone out there thinks they have the latest & greatest product on the market. The proof though is in the pudding, so the struggle was getting the message out that the answer to treating some of these skin issues their pets were having wasn’t using stronger products, but more gentler, natural products.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about MPC Gold?
We are an organic, 100% natural pet shampoo company. We are the only company out there (to my knowledge) that has a shampoo line that doesn’t have any added chemicals in the mix. We are proud of this fact & what we stand on, knowing that it truly makes a difference in the health of all animals. The added perk is that any of our products can also be used on humans. We offer retail size products for pet parents & retail stores, all the way up to gallon sizes for our groomers & equine customers. We are also proud of the fact that all of our products are made here in the USA, from our bottles to formulas.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I am always intrigued by reading anything regarding animal health & behaviors. I seem to learn something new every day. My dogs have been some of my greatest teachers! They have taught me patience, endurance. & unconditional love. They’re also remarkably keen on reading people the moment they meet them. I truly believe that if your dog doesn’t like someone, it’s best you don’t either…lol. Other than that, the best roadmap to life has been the Bible. Can’t say that I haven’t wandered off course from time to time, but strive to put faith into all decisions whether it be work, or family, related.
