Meet Shelia’ Celine of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelia’ Celine.

Shelia’, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started performing when I was five years old. I went to a performing arts school and began taking acting classes because I always loved being on stage and expressing myself. Pretty early on, I got signed to a talent agency, which made everything feel real and possible.
When I was ten, I took my first-ever vocal lesson… and I walked out with a whole rap song. No cap, that’s fact! That song became my first single, and I released my first music video at ten years old. That’s when I realized I didn’t just want to perform — I wanted to create.
At eleven, I went through something life-changing. I drowned under eight feet of water. It was a miracle — I survived with no long-term damage. That experience shifted my mindset. I felt like I was given another chance at life, and I promised myself I would live fully and fearlessly.
By twelve, I became a self-producing artist. I joined Girls Make Beats, which is where I discovered my love for DJ’ing. That opened a whole new lane for me creatively. Around that time, I booked my first major role on Nickelodeon’s That Girl Lay Lay, and I also had the honor of being the voice of young Nicki Minaj in the Barbie World music video with Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice.
Since then, I’ve been blessed to DJ for major events like Billboard Women in Music 2025 and the Kendrick Lamar & SZA GNX Tour. I’ve also been recognized for my DJ’ing by the Senator of San Bernardino County, which meant so much to me as a young creative.
Outside of performing, giving back is really important to me. I hosted my own Galentine’s event that raised funds for Girls Inc. of Los Angeles. I’m also a red carpet reporter with Teens Wanna Know, where I’ve interviewed incredible stars like Tiffany Haddish, Cedric the Entertainer, Howie Mandel, and Jo Koy.
I’ve worked with brands like Target and Albertsons, and at just 14 years old, I won a Young Artist Academy Award for my self-produced song “From Another Land,” which I wrote and produced myself.
Everything I’ve been through — the wins, the challenges, even the miracle moments — has shaped me into who I am today. I’m passionate about inspiring other young people to believe in their gifts. In the future, I look forward to starting my own nonprofit to continue empowering youth to shine unapologetically.
This is just the beginning for me. 💜

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, I’m really grateful because overall it’s been a smooth road. I’ve had amazing support from my family and team, and that’s made a huge difference.
That said, there have definitely been sacrifices. I don’t always get to have a “traditional” teenage experience. Sometimes I miss regular school days, spontaneous hangouts with friends, or just being able to be off the clock — because I’m booked and busy. Between rehearsals, performances, travel, and content, my schedule can look more like an adult’s than a 14-year-old’s.
There are also moments where the pressure is real. Being young in the industry means you’re constantly learning, growing, and proving yourself at the same time. I’ve had to develop discipline early — balancing school, creativity, and responsibility.
But I see those sacrifices as part of the bigger picture. I’m doing what I love. I’m building something meaningful. And I know the experiences I’m gaining now are shaping me into a strong, focused young woman.
So yes, there are sacrifices — but I wouldn’t trade the journey. 💜

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m Shelia’Celine—also known as DJ Princess SC—and I’m a DJ, music producer, actress, and youth media personality. I specialize in creating high-energy, feel-good experiences through music while also using my voice and platform to inspire young people to confidently be themselves.

I’m known for DJ’ing at major events and for major brands, bringing a unique mix of skill, personality, and purpose to every space I step into. Whether I’m performing live, interviewing artists, or on set, I focus on connecting with people and creating moments that feel authentic and unforgettable.

What I’m most proud of is being able to represent my generation in a positive way. I’ve had the opportunity to be part of platforms like Nickelodeon, perform at events like Billboard Women in Music, and be involved in major cultural moments—but what matters most to me is showing other kids that their dreams are valid, no matter how big they are.

What sets me apart is that I’m not just an entertainer—I’m intentional about impact. I’m building a brand that blends music, media, and empowerment. Through everything I do, I want young people to feel seen, heard, and inspired to shine their light without shrinking or second-guessing who they are.

I bring both professionalism and personality to every opportunity, and I’m always growing, learning, and pushing myself creatively. This is just the beginning for me, and I’m excited about everything ahead.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I’ve always been full of personality—creative, curious, and not afraid to stand out. I’ve always had a big imagination and a lot of energy, and I loved expressing myself in different ways, whether that was through music, performing, or just being in front of people making them smile.

I’ve always been drawn to entertainment. Music especially stood out to me early on—I didn’t just like listening to songs, I paid attention to how they made me feel, how they were put together, and how they connected people. That curiosity is what led me into DJing and producing.

Personality-wise, I’ve always been confident, but also very sensitive in a good way. I feel things deeply, and I care a lot about people. That’s a big part of why I do what I do—I’ve always wanted to uplift others and create spaces where people feel happy, included, and inspired.

I’ve also always been determined. Once I discover something I love, I go all in. I like to learn, practice, and get better every time. Even as I’ve grown, that part of me hasn’t changed—I still show up with that same passion and drive.

At the same time, I’ve had to grow into my confidence too. Being different or standing out isn’t always easy, but I’ve learned that those are the things that make me who I am. So now, I fully embrace it—and I encourage other young people to do the same.

I’d say I’ve always been a mix of creative, driven, and heart-led—and that’s still exactly who I am today, just evolving every day.
