Today we’d like to introduce you to Sergio Pelayo.
Sergio, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started from the bottom working as a janitor, yes! As a janitor cleaning offices. That was the beginning of my entrepreneurship, one day while I was sweeping a floor a lady came to me to ask if I was willing to clean her back patio “she didn’t talk about money” or at least that’s what I remember because at that time I didn’t understand English well, that patio took me only 15 minutes to clean and the lady gave me $30.00 dollars, “$30.00 dollars for 15 minutes of work, that moment I realized that for an hour of work I could make $120.00”.
Years later, I was managing my own Cleaning Business Company! As an entrepreneur, I can say that I made many mistakes but every one of them is part of me and my success, which is not yet over since I consider myself a beginner in the world of entrepreneurship.
In 2016, I started a new project called BLOODSHOT COFFEE which took me over a year to launch. In 2017, it finally got launched and it was amazing since it was different from other coffee trucks and first of its kind in Southern California.
While this was happening, I was still managing my Cleaning Company and working on my next step as an entrepreneur. In 2019 I had to temporarily stop Bloodshot Coffee to redirect my focus to become an Influencer in the cleaning industry, which was a project that started in 2016.
Now in 2020, after many years of ups and downs, I proudly help many Latinos in the cleaning industry to grow their cleaning companies. One of the ways I help is through my Social media channels like YouTube and Facebook with valuable information and videos, and for those who are ready to grow, I work directly with them as a Business Coach.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road was not smooth, even today I face many challenges. If someone asks me what were the three main challenges, I face to get to where I’m today, I would say the following…
1. Not being able to communicate with others when I first started out because I did not speak English.
2. Having to make decisions where the outcome can affect my family economically wise.
3.Taking the decision to move my family to México and manage my business from there, a decision that was not easy but had the courage to take in a matter of a short time.

One of the things that I like most about the City of LA is that there are many business opportunities and the only requirement is to take advantage of them.
When someone asks me about what I like least about the city, I would say that is the traffic.
