Today we’d like to introduce you to Rusty Wadatz.
Rusty, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My passion for interior design has been with me since birth. I used to rearrange the homes of the kids I babysat while their parents were away and my mom would have to tell me, “You can’t do that!” Despite her protests, I often got praised from the homeowners for my work.
I would consider myself self-made and self-taught. I sprang to the top of the design community soon after I made the bold leap from corporate America to interior design. Since launching my design career in 2011, I have been involved in the design and development of myriad projects, ranging from single rooms to entire multi-unit communities.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Anything worth having in life isn’t just given to you. Being great means facing adversity and struggles head on and challenging yourself to overcome them. To me, whatever struggles I’ve faced have been opportunities for me to problem solve and overcome them. If something seems easy, you’re not reaching your full potential!
Rusty Wadatz Design – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My company works in all price ranges. I’ve helped design single rooms, entire custom homes, and multi-unit developments up to 50 units in size.
What I’m best known for is using eclectic moments in my design with a focus on clean, modern lines, so people feel the space is both livable and design-focused.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients. I help them expand their vision and dream of what their house can be, and that to me is a great reward. I’m proud to call many of my clients lifelong friends.
What sets me apart from others is my understanding of real estate in addition to design. I’m able to walk into a house and not only see the vision for design, but also the value and future value of the home, which ultimately helps me to nurture my clients’ investment.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
My marker for personal success is helping the client to guide them through the process and understand the design in a different light. Taking that knowledge and changing their lifestyle for the better brings a smile to my face.
