Meet Miyona Lenoir

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miyona Lenoir.

Miyona, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been writing since the age of 14 and never stopped. I started out as a battle rapper but never set out to conquer that style of rap. My goal was always making music. Once I started recording there was no turning back.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This journey has been perfect. What I mean by that is I firmly believe in things happening exactly when and how they’re supposed to. I definitely won’t say easy. When you love something or someone you don’t need anything in return from it. I learned a new form of passion through music. I learned to do it because I love it. I also learned commitment and dedication. So many people around you could be supporting you (and it’s greatly appreciated), but if you don’t believe in how big the gifts that are given to you are then it will stay just that small.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m a rapper. I’d like to call myself a balance between conscious and commercial. I have “bars” for example, metaphors, similies, and double entendres. I also say things that force you to think. I’m most proud of my growth in music making and business throughout this journey. My sound is what’s missing.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
My answer will sound cliché but nothing at all. Everything I’ve been learning in life in and outside of music has really shaped me in regards to who I am overall.
