Meet Milo Rojas of MakeupbyMilo in Koreatown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Milo Rojas.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Milo. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
Growing up in Astoria, Queens to the most talented hair stylist and salon owner: my mother; I was always surrounded by beauty. I grew up very artistically inclined, drawing, sketching and painting. After college, I wanted a change of scenery and a slower pace of life, so I left New York City and relocated to calm West Palm Beach, Florida. I got a job at a local popular cosmetics brand store where I left behind the paintbrush and canvas for the everyday woman face and started my career as a makeup artist. Grew a following and mastered my skills for the next two years. Was given the opportunity to relocate to Los Angeles, California. Left the cosmetics store behind for full-time freelance work here in LA where I have been given a chance to work with some of the most influential people on the planet to the everyday men and women.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting as a passionate makeup artist in West palm beach was peachy. Word got out about my skills, and soon I was working almost all day, every day. I can’t say the same for my move to Los Angeles. It was so hard the first year. Going from working a lot to not being known by anyone and having to start basically from scratch. From making 100% profit on your projects to having to pay high percentages of your earnings to agencies and third parties who booked you the jobs here in LA. I have gained a bigger clientele here but it still a tough road making a name for yourself in a city with so much competition.

I am a professional makeup artist. I specialize in glamour, beauty, bridal, male grooming, HD makeup, editorial, music video makeup, and commercials. I am most proud of the passion and professionalism I offer to every project. Always providing a fully accomplished end product that is of the client’s complete satisfaction.
