Meet Maria Luxuria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Luxuria.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My small business got started by making gothic/Halloween baby blankets, I could never find anything dark that I liked. So I decided to sew it myself, while I was pregnant I sewed my son’s crib set. As well as plushies that I could never find anywhere. I had finished making a bat for him and posted it on my Facebook page, and within minutes I was swamped with my friends and the public. Wanting to buy a bat, it was exciting but overwhelming, since I was pregnant. I took orders for the bats and the more monster plushies I made, the more orders I got. So I turned it into a business, I vend at all the major Halloween events and smaller events. It’s been a great learning experience and meeting everyone that loves the plushies.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been an easy road, there has been a lot of hardship. With a newborn and growing son, it’s always a challenge to get work done. But I’m the end, I’m determined to make them successful.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a single mother of 2, that specializes in my Minster Plushies, Modeling, Makeup Artist, and Photography. I have stopped doing makeup and will be taking a hiatus. From doing the plushies, I need to get some things in order before I get back to it. I’m known for and proud of, my modeling and my plushies. I think everyone has their own thing that sets them apart, mine seems to be sewing.
