Meet Lisa Lafferty of Beverly Hills Premier Catering

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Lafferty.

Lisa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m from Oxnard, CA and I have a passion for food, luxury, travel, fitness, and healthy living. In school, I was a bit of a tomboy and was a star softball player. I worked at a number of restaurants when I was younger, as well as the post office. I have been featured on a number of reality shows, but I won’t tell you which ones!

I started working in catering and events, a few years ago and moved to LA to pursue my passions. I got engaged this past July and I live with my fiancé in West Hollywood.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I would love to tell you that it has been an easy ride, but if I did, I wouldn’t be telling you the truth. I have had to wear every single hat possible in my business and spend virtually all my waking hour’s building this business from scratch, but as a result, I appreciate it so much more. When you start your own business, you rarely realize the effort and sacrifice that comes along with it.

Nothing has ever been handed to me, so I am very proud of what I’ve accomplished in such a short time, but rarely does a day go by where there aren’t significant challenges that test me. I absolutely love what I do though, so even when I feel like there’s great adversity, I remind myself how lucky I am to be doing what I’m passionate about and achieving my goals.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Beverly Hills Premier Catering – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I started BHPC in late 2014, after managing another catering company for several years, previously. I decided to take the full-time entrepreneurial leap because I felt that there was a hole in the marketplace for a luxury catering company that provided bespoke service with a boutique feel. I had previously started my own company, Honeybare Cheesecakes, as a side business, where I created healthy, Greek yogurt cheesecakes and other custom desserts.

I started doing full dessert bars for the catering company that I was working for and found myself wanting to create and design all aspects of the catering experience. When I started getting booked on my first few events, I found that a number of my clients wanted event production services, in addition to catering, so I integrated this into my capabilities, as well.

In building my team at BHPC, I sought out best-in-class chefs, waiters, and vendors, and I have assembled, what I believe to be, the best team in the business. We have an amazing clientele that includes Fortune 500 brands, Rodeo Drive fashion and jewelry boutiques, leading Beverly Hills doctors and real estate agents, as well as celebrities and high net-worth individuals.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I have been blessed to have many wonderful people in my life that have helped me in so many ways. My parents and my sisters have always been so supportive of me and have both helped and taught me, in more ways than I can count.

My fiancé, Chris, has been by my side throughout the growth of BHPC, as I started it shortly after we started dating in the summer of 2014.
