Meet Latreasha Nolen of Treasha Chave in South Central and Compton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Latreasha Nolen.

Latreasha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a poet, entrepreneur, writer, Mother and Anti-Colorism activist. I recently self-published a book title “Am I woman Enough” that is based on my struggle with fertility and identifying my womanhood. I currently run two open mics one in Long Beach called spoken word Sunday and I host Compton Open mic. I love working with children with special needs, especially those based in disfranchised areas.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been a struggle for sure! I have struggled with depression, living in my car briefly due to a previous relationship, and just having the thought that I wasn’t good enough to prevail. I know longer have that perspective. I believe I can do anything or manifest anything in my life to come into fruition.

Please tell us about Treasha Chave.
I have multiple businesses. Spoken word Sunday – Open Mic. Treasha Chave Brand – Anti-Colorism and self-love apparel. My best seller is a shirt that destroys of separation due to skin tone. Last I run Aut2bfit it is an organization that offers free or affordable adaptive fitness for individuals with autism or like disorders.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would invested more time and money in the beginning. I would’ve definitely took the Nipsey Hussle mindset and “put all money in.” I would’ve hit the pavement running and didn’t stop until I reached a level where I was able to see the fruits of my labor. I’m just barely starting to see the light at the tunnel. I still have so much work to do.
