Hi LaShaundra , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In 2014, I founded Blissful Events as a means of creating a flexible job that would accommodate my family’s needs, as I had an ailing mother, a disabled son, and a young daughter. Leveraging my experience as the go-to person for event planning among my friends and family, I sought to establish a business that would provide a similar service to others. Thus, Blissful Events was born.
Once I got things started, I began transitioning towards weddings, but eventually experienced burnout and decided to expand my services to encompass all types of events. Sustaining relevance in this industry requires unwavering dedication. As an entrepreneur, I rely on referrals from satisfied clients and customers to generate business, as my focus lies on delivering exceptional service rather than utilizing social media platforms. Despite the challenges posed by the unforeseen COVID-19 pandemic, which significantly impacted the industry, I am grateful for the loyalty of my clients and customers, who enabled me to successfully recover and continue providing quality event planning services.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
With clients and customers, it has been a mostly smooth road. However, my history with social media has been somewhat rocky. Despite this, I have come to appreciate its potential in expanding my business and made the decision to establish a presence on Facebook and Instagram in 2015. While I have struggled with consistent posting, I am committed to leveraging social media effectively to achieve my business objectives.
