Today we’d like to introduce you to Lamz Laosebikan.

Hi Lamz, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into photography began in 2017 during my junior year at Delaware State University. What started as casually taking photos on my iPhone for friends quickly turned into something more, though I didn’t realize it at the time.

Everything changed when a friend asked me to step in last-minute for her graduation photos and trusted me enough to pay me. I was nervous and unsure, but delivering images that exceeded her expectations sparked something in me. That moment shifted my perspective.

Later that summer, determined to create another source of income, I took a leap of faith and invested in my first camera. With guidance from my mentor JR, who simply told me to “get up and shoot” I began to develop my craft and discover my passion.

Since then, photography has become more than just a skill, it’s a purpose.

I give all glory to God for every opportunity, lesson, and connection along this journey. I’m especially grateful for the people who helped shape my vision, including my mentor and team lead JR and my team partner Brennan. Their influence continues to inspire the creative I am today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to refinement was anything but simple. Mastering photography required more than talent, it demanded discipline, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous growth. From investing in the right equipment within my means to learning the art of positioning and marketing my brand, every step required intention.

One of the most defining challenges was understanding my value. Pricing wasn’t just numbers, it was confidence, clarity, and alignment. I wrestled with questions every creative faces: Am I charging too much? Not enough? How do I attract the right clientele? Over time, I realized that as my craft evolved, so did the answers. Growth required me to continuously refine not only my work, but my mindset.

In today’s landscape, the challenges extend even further. Standing out in an oversaturated industry, navigating social media algorithms, maintaining consistency, and balancing artistry with business all require a level of resilience that goes unseen. The pressure to remain creative while staying relevant can be demanding, but it is within these challenges that true artistry is developed.

Through it all, I’ve learned that success in this space isn’t just about taking great photos, it’s about building a brand, delivering an experience, and evolving with purpose.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Growing up, I was always connected to sports and music. Whether it was the intensity of a game or the vibe of music playing at home or events and dancing. those moments stuck with me. I was drawn to the energy and now I love to share that positive energy with others.
