Meet Korinthia Marsh of MyBeautyIQ

Today we’d like to introduce you to Korinthia Marsh

Hi Korinthia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Korinthia Marsh and I am a 25 year old hairstylist turned tech founder. I’ve been in the beauty industry for over a decade now, which is crazy to think about. I started as a shampoo girl my freshman year of high school at my hometown salon. I spent every day after school there and every Saturday for four years. I LOVED being in the salon, and from day one, I knew this was the path I wanted to take.

After high school, I moved to LA for beauty school and had the opportunity to learn from some of the best hairstylists in the industry. Being mentored by these stylists gave me a strong foundation and the confidence to start taking my own clients behind the chair.

Now, I not only work behind the chair, but I also manage an incredible salon in West Hollywood where I get to help support other stylists in their careers. My passion and love for the industry has grown so much within the years which has led me to my biggest step yet—becoming the founder of the first app revolutionizing how beauty professionals find in-person continued education classes..

I created this app because I saw a real need in the industry. As beauty professionals, we rely on continued education to stay connected and keep growing, but there wasn’t a go-to place to find in-person classes. Everything was scattered—word-of-mouth, random posts, endless searching. I knew there had to be a better way to not only help us professionals find valuable education but also help incredible educators get their classes in front of professionals needing them! MyBeautyIQ is the solution. A centralized hub for in-person education. It makes it easier for beauty pros to find the exact classes they need while giving educators more exposure and a streamlined way to fill their seats.

Im excited to continue to evolve in this industry and bring as much value and resources as I can.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every part of my journey has had its struggles but the track record has continued to show me that every struggle, challenge and lesson has helped prepare me for the next part of my journey so now I move with a lot of faith that no matter how challenging something feels in the moment, it will lead to something good.

Creating an app is a completely different world than working behind the chair or even managing a salon. Im still learning so much about funding, marketing, development, and how to promote an app. Being a founder means stepping outside of my comfort zone and shifting from the salon hat to networking, building business relationships, and learning how to operate and scale a business.

Its both exciting and overwhelming but I’m eager to grow and see what’s to come!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
MyBeautyIQ is the first centralized app designed to make in-person education easily accessible for all beauty professionals.

What makes us different? Instead of relying on word-of-mouth or searching across multiple platforms to find the right class, beauty pros can refine their search based on price, subject, look & learn or hands-on, distance, and more. MBIQ not only makes it easier to invest in continued education, but it also introduces professionals to new educators they may not have discovered otherwise!

For educators, MBIQ is a platform to post, promote, and sell class tickets to an audience specifically looking for a class like theirs. We’ve also built in a feature that helps educators find and rent salon spaces, simplifying the process and opening up the opportunity to teach classes anywhere.

Salon owners can benefit by turning their salons unused days into income, listing their space for rent to host classes while supporting education in their city and expanding their network within the industry.

What I’m most proud of is the impact MBIQ is already making by showcasing and highlighting the incredible educators who are shaping the industry, giving them a platform to share their knowledge and connect with beauty professionals wanting to grow.

I want people to know that MBIQ is more than just an app, it’s changing the way beauty professionals access education. We’re making it easier, more accessible, and more affordable while bringing the entire community together.
