Meet Knarik Arzumanyan of Beauty by KnAr in Glendale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Knarik Arzumanyan.

Knarik, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born and raised In Yerevan, Armenia. In 2012, with my family, we moved to live in the USA. Before to move, I decided to learn what I was always wanting to learn-doing makeup. Why makeup? Because I have always been in love with doing makeup and I have always been passionate to work with different types of people. I took makeup classes at the Armenian branch school of the Makeup Atelier Paris.

At first, it was very difficult for me to start a new career in a new country, I went through many struggles but never gave up. I have been working very hard. But at the same time, I had also so many great opportunities to meet and work with so many professionals. And all I have today is the result of continuous, persistent hard work.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My road wasn’t easy and smooth. I was supposed to start a new career, new life in a new country, everything from zero.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am a professional MUA, a freelancer. I have been professionally trained at a French makeup academy’s branch in Armenia – Makeup Atelier Paris. I use professional grade equipment & supplies by Makeup Atelier Paris, Anastasia Beverley Hills, Makeup Forever, Kryolan, Urban Decay, etc. And, I always use disposable tools which are very important for my customers’ hygiene. I keep up to date with all the latest trends and technology in the beauty field and always accept opportunities to add to my training and experience. I am also extremely good at investigating with my clients to find exactly what their needs and wants are.

I understand customer satisfaction is among the most important things in running a business, so I make sure I communicate my job responsibilities the best I can. I absolutely love what I do, I love seeing people transforming and it makes me happy to make someone’s day. I work for fashion shows, film productions, photo shoots and much more. I like everything about my job. There are many different aspects to makeup artistry and I am blessed to be able to learn and work with some of the best people I know. I love that I can work on a wedding one day and the next day be in a fashion show, the other day in a lovely cast and crew working on some movie or theatrical show. I love my job, I love my customers, I love the personages and characters I create. I also love to see my customers reactions after the makeup is done.
