Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendra Muecke
Hi Kendra, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Thanks so much for inviting me to interview! Since I was a kid, I have always dreamt of moving to Los Angeles from Houston to follow my dreams of being a “movie-star”. As I started to learn my craft and train in musical theatre when I was younger, my love for acting became a love for music too. I still remember when I first started listening to rock ‘n roll in my teen years. I thought to myself, what if I brought a guitar into my artistic/acting process. Guitar opened me up to learning more about developing my strength as a performer. It takes such focus. I ended up finally moving here from Texas when I was 18 to study acting at Pepperdine University.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
more or less a smooth road… once I quit drinking! Wow. It’s like I have been 2 totally different versions of myself in LA. There is the version of me that moved here at 18 and partied, and then there is me now. I’m all about my business, career, reputation, and wellness. I think other Californians can relate. Once I found myself, I realized I am happy being me with no disguise.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a recording artist who releases pop music under the name “Kendra & the Bunnies”. As a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who releases pop forward music with a rock approach, I aim to bring my listeners together in the shared understanding that everyone is good enough to deserve happiness. It sounds cliché, but that is something I deal with daily, evaluating my worth. In addition to my music, I have been acting my entire life. From Shakespeare to Meisner, I have studied many methods. I really love it. I have also released two books of poetry, and I am a social media influencer and content creator.
When I am not working aka creating art, etc., I like to spend my time volunteering in the community.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I think the most important lesson to learn along the way is that everything takes time and thought. Focus on what you want to do with your life, and everything falls into focus.
