Today we’d like to introduce you to Kay Tourelle.
Hi Kay, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been drawn to creative expression and storytelling, even before I had the language for it. Modeling was my entry point, but it quickly became more than just being in front of the camera, it became a way for me to express confidence, beauty, and intention. What began as organically building my portfolio evolved into a deeper understanding of presence, branding, and how visuals can communicate emotion.
As I grew, I became more intentional about the spaces I placed myself in and the energy I wanted my work to reflect. My journey hasn’t been linear, there were seasons of growth, pause, and rebuilding, but each phase brought clarity and strengthened my sense of self.
Today, my focus has expanded beyond modeling into fashion, content creation, and entrepreneurship. Currently building Tourelle Fashion , modeling remains a core part of my story, now alongside creating brands that reflect my creativity, values, and vision.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. There were moments of uncertainty where I had to pause, regroup, and trust a path that wasn’t always clear. Being on a creative journey can feel lonely at times, especially when you’re moving without a blueprint.
My faith carried me through those seasons. God kept me grounded when I didn’t have all the answers and reminded me that even slower or uncertain moments had purpose. Every setback or redirection was shaping me, even when I couldn’t see it at the time.
I was also supported by practical grounding in my everyday life. Practical Life, a platform centered on bridging the gap between what you know, what you feel, and how you move through life, helped me stay steady while still honoring my creativity.
Looking back, those challenges refined me. They taught me patience, discernment, and how to trust God’s timing, lessons that continue to guide how I move in both my career and my life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work sits at the intersection of beauty, fashion, and confidence. As a model and creative, I use visual storytelling to express elegance, presence, and intention, but my work extends far beyond the camera. I’m deeply passionate about helping women feel confident in themselves, both inside and out.
I also offer virtual makeup classes for women who want to learn how to do their own makeup and feel more confident showing up in their everyday lives. For me, beauty isn’t about perfection, it’s about understanding what works for you and owning it.
What I’m most proud of is creating work that feels empowering and real. Whether through modeling, beauty, or education, my goal is to help women see themselves differently and step into their confidence with intention.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always determined and resilient, with a naturally creative spirit. Creativity showed up in playful, organic ways. I was constantly experimenting with makeup on my cousins, and my family would even throw fashion shows for our neighborhood. Those moments were fun, but they also planted the seeds for my love of fashion, beauty, and presentation.
The environment I grew up in shaped my appreciation for quality, elegance, and intention. That lifestyle influenced how I see the world and how I move through it today. At the same time, resilience became part of who I am early on, teaching me how to stay focused, determined, and confident in myself.
Looking back, that blend of creativity, luxury, and resilience played a major role in shaping the woman I’m becoming and the work I create now.
