Today we’d like to introduce you to Kami Blease.
Hi Kami, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The Cove was born from the realization that building lasting female friendships as we move through different stages of life can be incredibly challenging, especially in a fast-paced, transient city like LA. I wanted to create a space where women could show up authentically, connect with like-minded women, and experience unique events around the city that foster deeper, more meaningful relationships. My passion for hosting events and the immense value I’ve found in my own female friendships have played a huge role in shaping The Cove. I truly believe that all women deserve to feel seen, supported, and uplifted by their community, whether that’s through a few close friends or a larger circle. When you have people around you who genuinely encourage you, it helps you show up as your best self.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any business, The Cove has had its share of ups and downs. Building a community in a city like LA, where there’s always something happening, can be both exciting and challenging. The competition for attention is fierce, so we’re constantly thinking about how to create events that stand out. It’s not just about being unique, but about crafting experiences that feel different in meaningful ways. At The Cove, our focus is on fostering genuine connections, and that’s something we’re always refining. We want women to keep coming back not just for a great event, but because they feel truly seen, valued, and connected within our community.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Cove?
The Cove is a women’s community centered around creating authentic friendships through thoughtfully curated events. We specialize in organizing unique experiences that not only allow women to explore new things in LA but also provide them with a space to build real connections. What sets The Cove apart is our focus on fostering a deeper sense of belonging. It’s not just about attending an event—it’s about being part of a community where you feel seen, heard, and supported.
We pride ourselves on offering more than just social outings. Whether it’s a creative workshop, a wellness session, or a simple coffee meetup, each event is designed to cultivate genuine connections and meaningful conversations. We’re intentional about creating an environment where women can show up genuinely and build relationships that extend beyond just a fun day or evening.
What I’m most proud of is the impact The Cove has had on the women who’ve joined. Many have found lifelong friendships, which is truly the heart of what we do. We want people to know that The Cove isn’t just about attending events—it’s about finding a space where you can grow your network, share experiences, and be part of a community that genuinely values connection.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I believe the most important quality behind my success with The Cove is authenticity. While that might be a bit cheesy, I believe that is what allows me to show up event after event and continue to connect with the women in attendance and ensure that they themselves also feel like they can show up as they truly are. Staying true to the core mission of creating real, meaningful connections has been essential. In a world where networking can sometimes feel surface-level or transactional, we’ve focused on building a community that allows women to show up as they are. I’ve found that when you’re authentic, people respond to that, and it creates an environment where deeper relationships can form naturally. It’s not just about planning events—it’s about fostering a sense of belonging, and that can only happen when you lead with honesty and heart.
