Meet Jon Varsobia Mark Grey of Reseda

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jon Varsobia Mark Grey.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Mark and I have known each other for about 16 years. Ten years ago, we were both working at a Chinese restaurant—waiting tables and doing deliveries. Despite the job, we were always driven and dreamed of doing something bigger. Fast forward to today, I’m an entrepreneur running one of the fastest-growing cleaning companies in LA, and Mark has become one of the most successful and well-known barbers in the industry.

Five months ago, an opportunity to own a barbershop came up, and of course, Mark was the first person I reached out to. Without hesitation, we jumped on it. Mark, being the creative genius he is, came up with the concept, and I was there to bring it to life. The only thing left was to find the perfect name. After months of brainstorming, Mark came up with “Kill Your Ego” (KYE), and I couldn’t have thought of a better name myself.

The essence of KYE reflects who we are—two successful, egoless, hardworking young men, focused on doing better for our families and our kids. This isn’t just about opening a shop; it’s about embodying a lifestyle. Our hope is that, years from now, KYE will represent much more than a business—it will be a legacy and a testament to the journey of growth, humility, and dedication.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been easy, as with any new venture, but when you and your partner share the same vision and drive, it makes every challenge worthwhile.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Mark and I have both found success in our individual fields. Over the past few years, Mark has established himself as one of the top barbers, with a strong presence on social media. Meanwhile, I’ve been thriving in the cleaning industry. But if there’s one thing I know we both share, it’s that what we’re most proud of isn’t our professional accomplishments—it’s our kids. I have a 4-year-old daughter, and Mark has an 8-year-old son. There’s nothing more fulfilling than being able to provide for them and, as entrepreneurs, having the flexibility to spend as much time as possible with them, no matter how busy we get.

What truly sets us apart is our drive and determination—not just to succeed in business, but to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

What matters most to you?
Being able to take care of our families, especially our kids, is what means the most to us. Both of us came to the United States as immigrants, never imagining we’d be in the position we are today. Yet, we continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our children have the opportunities and a brighter future that we didn’t always have.
